Heavy Meddle is the first half of the second episode of The Loud House.

Bad Qualities

  1. This episode is harsh to Lincoln in the worst way possible, and the way its unnecessarily mean-spirited nature is completely uncomfortable. This episode is nearly 11 minutes of Lincoln's suffering. This is ESPECIALLY the very first Lincoln torture episode.
  2. The people at Lincoln's school are very unlikeable and mean spirited, while they're not the ones that prank Lincoln various times for no reason at all (see point 5.3 below), they do, however, take photos of him being humiliated by the prankster, even when he's trying to have a good time at school.
  3. Some of the gross-out moments are present in this episode, such as Lincoln sitting on a whoopee cushion while trying to eat his school lunch, and where he gets a pile of boogies with trash on it all over himself.
  4. This episode tries to give us the message that "If a girl bullies you, that means she likes you", which is barely even the case since this episode makes us think it happens all the time. You know, it should be noted that this makes sense in Hey Arnold where Helga often insults Arnold by calling him a "football head" just because Arnold's head is shaped like an American football, and Arnold doesn't care all that much and brushes it off without taking issue with it. Here in this Nicktoon, it just doesn't work.
  5. Lincoln's sisters are not that out-of-character in this episode, but they are needlessly stupid since they don't help Lincoln out with his bully situation in their ways, even if the torture they gave Lincoln is unintentional:
    • Lisa shocks Lincoln with her X-ray machine (while not intentional), causing him to freeze while laying on the couch.
    • Leni accidentally spills a bowl of boiling soup onto Lincoln's spot, causing him to be burned by the soup.
    • They even cause Lincoln to be beaten up by Ronnie Anne (the one that pranks him at the beginning of the episode), causing him to scream at his sisters & criticize them because of how they "make things worse" in his life.
  6. The infamous ending where Lincoln is seen with a black eye after he is punched by Ronnie Anne.
  7. Ronnie Anne never EVER gets punished for getting Lincoln embarrassed, beating him up nor even giving him that black eye! Of course Lincoln listens to bad advice because the Loud sisters get him on a fool's errand, but still.
    • This despicable scene shows that even the writers are not happy with Ronnie Anne's portrayal in this episode.
  8. The infamous scene with the sisternado.

Good Qualities

  1. Lincoln's sisters get comeuppance at the ending, as they get criticized by Lincoln for their meddling actions.
    1. They even showed sympathy and tried to apologize to him.
  2. Clyde & Lincoln (as well as the parents and Cliff) are the only likable characters in this episode.
  3. The part where Lincoln's sisters make an overkill treatment over a simple papercut that he got in a flashback is pretty funny.
  4. Ronnie Anne does get her punishment in Save the Date.
  5. Despite the fact Ronnie Anne gave Lincoln a black eye, she did give him a small apology note and steak to help ease the pain.
    1. She also redeems herself in "Save the Date".

Reception

The episode is received Mixed reviews by critics & fans of the show, due to being a Lincoln torture episode. However, it has an 8.7/10 on IMDb, along with Making the Case.

Trivia

  • Although she never appears onscreen, this episode marks the debut of Ronnie Anne.
