Hey Pizza! is the 11th episode of the 1st season of Teen Titans Go!.
Synopsis
Cyborg and Beast Boy want to get a pizza in over 30 minutes so that their pizza would be free of charge, but the delivery boy is seemingly unstoppable. It is becoming a bit of a challenge, and an all-out war of wits between them starts. Meanwhile, Robin struggles to decide whether to build a senior center or a pool.
Why It Deserves No Pizza
- Cyborg, Beast Boy, and Robin are highly unlikable in this episode, details will be explained below.
- The plot is also all over the place as there’s two plots going on at once they barely tie into each other and seem to be not related to one another. These plots are: Cyborg and Beast Boy try to get free pizza and Robin decides whether he should build a pool or a senior center.
- The beginning scene where Silkie and Beast Boy try cool down on a hot day does nothing towards the plot other than establish the B-plot.
- Plot holes:
- Why is Robin put in charge of building a senior center when there was no evidence that he’s a construction worker or contractor to begin with?
- Why do the Titans have to build a new pool since it was established that the Titans have a backyard pool IN THE PREVOIUS EPISODE!?, heck, Beast Boy and Silkie even make their own blow-up small pool instead of going to the backyard pool! Which means that it was entirely pointless for Robin to think about building a pool, or for Starfire to question where to swim, and no one even talks about the backyard pool! meaning that the writers omitted the pool to not make the episode end early which comes of as forced.
- If they brought back the B-plot be could be about Robin, Raven & Starfire chilling in the pool.
- Starfire then says that it’s so hot outside, she wants to go swimming and that she bought a new swimsuit. This is when the plot derails because Robin becomes lustful and wants to see Starfire in her new swimsuit. So, he decides to build a pool.
- The A plot kicks in and Cyborg and Beast Boy stay back home and see a pizza commercial and try to figure out how to get free pizza, however, their ways should’ve gotten them arrested:
- They put the pizza man in danger multiple times by sending monsters after him, destroying the road, putting up force fields and weapons, etc.
- They also LITERALLY BLOW UP THE PIZZA SHOP, damn.
- Plot hole: How does the pizza man survive all of this?
- On top of that, Cyborg and Beast Boy STEAL ALL OF THE TITANS’ MONEY to pay for the pizzas they ordered and THEY NEVER PAID THEM BACK. This truly shows how awful friends they are.
- Speaking of the pizza, it’s unknown what Cyborg and Beast Boy did with all that pizza. It will obviously not all fit in the fridge and when it spoils, it will stink up the tower and make it a biohazard to live in.
- The joke about the elderly looking forward to death is too dark and out of place. That is very disrespectful!
- Half-Bad Ending: An old man gets his pizza late and Cyborg and Beast Boy throw a temper tantrum and Starfire agrees to model the swimsuit for Robin and it was revealed it was really for Silkie, causing him to nearly vomit.
- Why did Starfire get Silkie a bikini when he’s a male larvae?
- Also, Silkie in a bikini is disgusting and Robin's reaction truly sums it up.
Redeeming Qualities
- Half-Good Ending: Robin finally came to his senses and a senior center like he originally planned.
- Beast Boy and Cyborg ordering Pizza can be admittedly seen as hilarious to some people.
