Honey Bear Fun is a platform game developed and published by Ditzel Games for Android and iOS on April 18, 2018. It is the "successor" to Honey Bear Run, another game made by the same developer, featuring the same bear protagonist.

Why It's NOT Fun, Deserves No Honey, and Should Be Attacked by Bees & Birds

  1. The game is essentially just a cheap rip-off of Super Bear Adventure, which in turn appears to be extremely similar to Banjo-Kazooie, another mobile platform game released for the same platforms, which was already gaining popularity by the time this game was released.
    • Not only does it rip off Super Bear Adventure, but it also rips off Mario in a way, as the Honey Jar functions very similar to the Star powerup from the latter game, as it gives you temporary invincibility.
  2. The graphics look very subpar, especially for that of a mobile game. The models look very polygonal and are easily comparable to that of an Atari Jaguar or PlayStation 1 game; the textures are bland as they are only just one solid color with the platforms just being shapes lazily made using the Unity engine.
  3. Janky controls. Even though the bear runs fast, the jumping is very floaty, making it easy for you to not make it to the top of a platform in time. Instead, you will just fall into the water and die.
  4. The hitboxes can be very off at times as you can easily get killed by bees and/or birds without even touching them, which shows even more on how broken this game is.
  5. Lazy and overall poor level design, as they are all just made using simple shapes in the Unity engine as stated above.
  6. Out-of-place sound effects. For some reason, the jumping sound effect for the bear sounds like the same sound when you remove a sticky note from something.
  7. Much like Era's Adventures, the game is very short as it can easily be beaten in less than 20 minutes.
  8. In spite of WINF,DNH,ASBSBB&B#3, one of the levels in World 2 require you to wait an awfully long amount of time just for the platform to come back to you, and once you do actually get on the platform, you have to have a very quick reaction in order to dodge all of the upcoming obstacles. Failing to do so means you have to restart the entire level from the beginning and do the same thing all over again.
  9. No checkpoints whatsoever. When you die, you restart all the way back at the beginning of the level.
  10. Repetitive on-loop music as it's just the same Kevin MacLeod song that plays on a loop throughout the entire game.

Reception

The game was heavily criticized by several players for it blatantly ripping off Super Bear Adventure.
