"I Was a Preschool Dropout"

"I Was a Preschool Dropout is the second half of the eighth episode of the first season of My Life as a Teenage Robot. It first aired on Nickelodeon in the United States on October 3, 2003.

Plot

Having been found to have only been activated for five years, the school system declares that Jenny has to be moved into a grade level that matches her "age". Now Jenny finds herself in a new situation... kindergarten.

Why It Deserves to Drop Out of Preschool

  1. The episode logically makes no sense. Just because a robot was made how many years ago and designed to be older doesn't mean they still have to go into a grade level to match the fact that she is technically only five years old.
  2. Nobody except Brad listens to nor understands Jenny that she was made five years ago to be designed as a teenager until the ending.
  3. The kindergarteners make fun of and are mean to Jenny just because she's different, causing her to get revenge on them.
    • Ms. Binky didn't even do anything about the whole incident, and when Jenny finally gets back on the students, Ms. Binky scolds her for beating them up, blindly taking their side.
  4. Alex is the most unlikable character in the episode since he throws the ball at Jenny about four times, and the last time even caused her to get her face covered in mud.
  5. Misleading title: It claims that Jenny gets sent to preschool, yet she doesn't and gets sent to kindergarten instead.
  6. Idiot move: Jenny didn't bother flying out of the kindergarten property and escape. She could've just done that and flown back to Tremorton High. She forgot who she is and what she cand do.
  7. Bad ending: Jenny changed her mind to be in kindergarten instead of high school even though in most of the episode, she hates kindergarten. When Jenny cries as she is dragged away, Kevin says "Man, what a baby!".
    • Also, Jenny is a complete hypocrite since she stated she didn't like kindergarten since the start, so why all of a sudden does she like kindergarten?

Qualities That Deserve to Graduate Preschool

  1. The first few minutes were decent.
  2. After seeing Jenny go through ruthless bullying, she beats up the kindergarteners, which is satisfying.
  3. The kindergarteners later started liking Jenny when they said she's their hero.

Reception

Despite receiving a 7.7/10 on IMDb, it paired with "Sibling Tsunami".
