Imagine Party Babyz is a 2008 party video game developed and published by Ubisoft for the Nintendo Wii and serves as an entry in the Imagine series.

Gameplay

In Imagine Party Babyz, girls can play as a babysitter and take care of adorable babies. Entertain the babies through hilarious minigames such as swings, tricycle races, monster chases in babies' dreams, dancing, and soap bubbles contests.

Why It's a Crybaby

  1. Making a party game about babies is a really questionable idea, especially on how annoying it could be, and it's not executed very well here.
  2. Really poor and uncanny looking graphics that look akin to a Nintendo 64, PlayStation, or Sega Dreamcast game from 1998-2001, not helping by the fact the character models are seemingly recycled straight from the DS games, showing how lazy it is. There are countless of Wii games that were released before this one that have much better-looking graphics, such as Super Mario Galaxy, showing that the console is capable of better graphics.
  3. Uninteresting and dull plot. It's just about a babysitter getting hired to take care of the babies with dull comedy. The cutscenes are really poor as well and have mediocre animation.
    • The only "comedy" the game has is characters constantly falling down like idiots. Anything else is just about as dull and annoying as the rest of the game.
  4. The voice acting is also really poor as the characters sound incredibly dull, and the voice actors don't sound like they are trying hard enough. The babies' voices are even worse, which isn't really a surprise as they sound incredibly ear-bleeding and high-pitched, sounding terrible as a result.
  5. The box art is poorly made. It's just a bunch of stock photos of babies that were likely taken from Google or another search engine and slapped onto it, with the maracas and other toys being poorly photoshopped into their hands.
  6. Incredibly poor and unresponsive controls.
  7. The minigames are dull, very generic, and uninspired overall, such as Jack in the Box and Memory Match. Some of them are also outright broken, such as Balloon Popping, where sometimes your dart can go right through a balloon and not pop it.
  8. Despite being a party game, unlike Mario Party or even some other party games, there are no boards or any sort of main campaign whatsoever as there are only seasons: spring, summer, fall, and winter. This is where you are just playing minigame after minigame with no fun.
  9. The game is very short; it can simply be beaten in less than an hour.
  10. It doesn't really improve anything over the other Imagine games and instead makes it worse.
  11. Overall, it is one of the worst games that Ubisoft has ever published as well as one of the worst Wii games of all time.

Redeeming Qualities That Aren't a Crybaby

  1. You can at least customize your baby with costumes and accessories, despite the game still not being good enough.
  2. The soundtrack is decent.

Reception

Imagine Party Babyz received negative reviews, with many calling it a boring and bland party game that serves as nothing more but blatant shovelware for the Wii.

Ironically however, IGN infamously gave the game a 7.5/10[1], resulting in various memes being spawned from it[2], as they gave any game that was acclaimed by critics/audiences a lower score than it, such as God Hand, the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series, Sonic Frontiers, Luigi's Mansion, Earthbound Beginnings, Naruto X Boruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections, and Hyrule Warriors.
