"Intro"
So they casually gave us Teen Titan fans the biggest middle finger possible and insulted Warner Bros too?
Series: Teen Titans Go!
Part of Season: 8
Episode Number: 22 (387)
Air Date: September 22, 2023 (online), September 23, 2023 (TV)

"Intro" is the 22nd episode of the eighth season of Teen Titans Go!, and the 387th overall episode of the series.

Plot

Control Freak leads the Titans on a chase through various cartoon intro sequences.

Why It Should Have Outros Instead

  1. The main problem with this episode is that they still haven't recovered even after being on the air for 10 years. It is yet another hater episode that insults viewers from fans of the programs shown, showing that the series didn't learn its lesson of criticism jabbing. what doesn't help is that they casually added toilet humor in The Jetsons intro.
    • Second, they mocked Batman: The Animated Series, too. Not even the modern seasons of Family Guy would be this disrespectful to the franchise.
    • They made fun of The Flintstones, which aired on MeTVToons in June, but that doesn't really make the situation any better.
    • To make things worse, both shows were made by Warner Bros.
  2. The animation here, while decent, is cheaper when compared to other episodes in the series due to reusing footage from television show openings rather than reanimating them. It doesn't help that it has plenty of noticeable animation errors which make this episode already rushed in production, like for instance:
    • When the Titans chase Control Freak in The Flintstones intro, it shows Starfire's boot is somehow broken, to which she has blisters on her foot. In another shot, her boot is somehow fixed.
    • Raven's assumption that there are no real monsters in the Scooby-Doo franchise is incorrect. The gang has encountered real monsters multiple times in the series. The very monster that Control Freak dresses as is, in fact, the first real monster of the franchise.
    • Raven becomes Lady Legasus at one point during The Flintstones chase. But when they go into the drive-in theater, she's back to her normal persona.
  3. Some plot holes:
    • How can the TTG titans not recognize their 2003 counterparts? The Original Teen Titans seem to not recognize their Go! counterparts despite meeting in Teen Titans Go! vs. Teen Titans, but it is possible this episode takes place before those events.
    • How do the TTG Titans know the Jetsons? (Not counting the throwaway line in the Superhero Summer Camp miniseries where Cyborg had a one-night stand with Rosie, their maid robot, we are not joking)
  4. The voice acting is jarring to listen to, to the point where even the English dub of Smile Pretty Cure is better than this.
  5. While Fred wasn't flanderized in this reboot, adding him on Teen Titans Go! was somewhat unnecessary.
  6. In the end, it insulted the fans of the original series. Which is highly disrespectful to not only the fans but the people who were involved in it too.

Redeeming Qualities

  1. The concept of the Titans having to travel various television show intros is an interesting idea, and could've had potential, but was botched horribly.
  2. As mentioned in WTESHOI #2, the animation is decent.
  3. When the GO! Titans arrive at the original Titans Tower, Cyborg admits that the original Titans Tower is better than the GO! Titans Tower, which is relatable.
