Iron Sidechef is the second half of episode 14 or the 28th episode of season 2 and the 80th episode overall of Sidekick
Plot
Eric has a talent for cooking while Madame Superchef is jealous of his skills
Why It's Raw
- The title card involving Eric and Trevor boiling in the pan is disturbing.
- In the opening scene, Trevor uses a hand mixer to remove his brain, which is disgusting.
- Plot Hole: If his brain is outside, how does he resurrect in the later scene when he sees Madame Superchef cooking pizza?
- There are other scenes where Trevor has some gross-out moments, like his Toejam Sandwich and eating like a dog after Eric serves nachos for him, Vana, and Kitty.
- Madame Superchef throwing food objects on Eric, Trevor, and Vana while summons a cow to crush Kitty is mean-spirited.
- The scene where Madame Superchef blasts hot peppers on students, except Eric, is disturbing and very mean-spirited to watch.
- The girl crying after Madame Superchef's ice cream truck leaves and the ice cream drops on the floor serves nothing but to pad out time, especially when she gets swooped by a pterodactyl-like monster.
- Additionally, the Pterodactyl-like monster serves no purpose in this episode.
- How does Eric build his restaurant if he becomes a superchef? In real life, people who become chefs cannot build their restaurants until they master cooking.
- When Vana tells Kitty to vote, the latter yells and cries for Eric just so he can win, and this comes off as annoying.
- Bad Ending: While Eric and Trevor want pizza, they are swooped by a pterodactyl-like monster.
Redeeming Qualities
- Everyone is likable in this episode.
- Madame Superchef is an intimidating antagonist who loves to cook and fight Eric in a competition when the latter becomes popular.
- The Sidekick Sidecook Cook-Off is a good scene where Eric and Madame Superchef compete to defend the title of chef.
- Unlike other episodes, the unicorn has a more prominent role, compared to it being pointless.
Trivia
- The episode's title references the reality show, Iron Chef.
