Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius is an adventure game developed by AWE Games and published by THQ. The game came out before the movie and featured a different plot.

This page will cover the PC version of the game; it has no connection to the home console versions.

Good Qualities

  1. This game lets you go to each side of Retroville, best of all, the missions were build around towns of Retroville, meaning you will have to go to each side of Retroville to complete all missions.
  2. Good controls, even though it's lousy tank controls, the game was built around it. Struggling playing the game will be absolutely absent, especially to tons of talented players, thanks to how the controls are good.
  3. You can use Goddard in all areas, there pretty cool to use, being a pc game in all.
    • The Goddard Scooter is used to go to areas faster, as Jimmy is a bit slow when it comes to walking.
    • The Goddard remote control lets you control Goddard to reach areas jimmy can't go too.
    • The Grappling claw, while clunky, can be used to swing & avoid toxic waste.
  4. Nice voice acting, as this is Debi Derryberry's first time voicing Jimmy in this game before the movie, and is a step up to the PS2 & GC versions.
  5. There's other dubs in this version compared to the console versions, also there's translation such as for the French version.
  6. Nice music, as each area has it's own music, meaning it's not repetitive at all, meaning getting annoyed will be impossible, especially since getting annoyed is pretty bad.
  7. Jimmy Neutron is able to different weapons.
    • The Jet-Pack, which let's you get up in higher areas.
    • The Baseball let's you aim and hit switches, this can be used in Retroland.
    • Jimmy's rocket which you can use in area 51, and other locations, as long as there's no walls.
    • The Shrink Ray, which you can use to shrink enemies and the Darwin's you can collect.
  8. You can select the tutorial mode if you don't know how to play the game.

Bad Qualities

  1. Poor graphics that look like they were from an Nintendo 64 game, the textures are low quality, the character models look god-awful, The lips don't sync, and the same models were reused in the next game.
    • Jimmy's model, while fine, his old model was god-awful in pre-release pictures.
    • When trying to play this game on newer computers, the graphics start flashing colors, which could effect people with seizures. However on PCGamingWiki, there is a replacement file that makes the game work fine on modern computers and you should also set the compatibility mode to Windows XP SP2 or else the intro will skip.
  2. Broken collision detection, you can get stuck in a wall by an NPC, as performed by Nitro Rad.
  3. The Jet-Pack has weird physics, in order to go up you need to stay still, and when you move while flying you barely go up.
  4. The invisibility cloak is clunky as one when you put it on, the Yokians immediately forget you were there which doesn't make any sense.
  5. The Grappling claw can make you get stuck on certain areas.
  6. Poor ending, you don't even get to fight King Goobot unlike the console versions, this is basically the boss from The Adventures of lolo.
  7. There are times it can get quite scary for a kids game, at two points in Area 51 a police car with a creepy face on it hunts you down & takes you back where you were & the part where you sneak past the Yokians in their ship plays an eerie & incredibly scary background noise.
  8. Despite in the voice acting being good, the French version's voice acting hasn't aged well as well as the German version, due to them not being that faithful to the show voices.
