Just Desserts is the second half of episode 2 of Season 5 of The Fairly OddParents

Plot

Timmy wishes that everyone ate nothing but dessert, which at first leads to an increase in energy. However, over time, everyone becomes obese, which Timmy sees as a partly good thing: no one is made fun of for being fat, and Francis tries to pick on thin kids (Mark Chang) but is too fat to even move! But the huge increase in weight is causing the Earth to leave its orbit, and head towards the Sun! Timmy wishes for everything to go back to normal before it's too late, but Wanda doesn't have the energy to lift her arm to grant the wish!

Why It Gets Fat

  1. This is one of the episodes Timmy makes rule violations, in this case, he wishes everyone to eat nothing but desserts so that they can fat when progressed.
  2. Misleading Title Card: Timmy in the title card is seen using an icing bag, but it does not appear in this episode.
  3. The first and third acts start as a Timmy torture episode:
    • The first act involves him not eating sweets, but rather carrots, brussels sprouts broccoli smoothie, and math books, which he does not like.
    • The third act involves everyone getting fat and rolling like a ball due to overeating sweets for 4 weeks.
  4. The second act involves characters eating sweets, becoming hyperactive, and acting weird because of this, which is very unhealthy to do in real life.
  5. Mark Chang showing his mouth without teeth after swallowing the Brussels sprout is very disgusting to watch.
  6. There is one mean-spirited scene, where Timmy squishes Mark using his weight because the latter refuses to give the Yugopotamian Spinach Cobbler to Wanda; however, it is still justified to do so.
  7. Cosmo seems clueless about where he finds his wand during the third act, making this one a bit of a filler.
  8. Plot Hole: There is no reason to let planet Earth drop into the sun because of people's weight, most likely just for the sake of randomness.
  9. Bad Moral: Eating too much sweets is bad for people since they will get fat or hyperactive.

Redeeming Qualities

  1. At least the third act is much better than the previous two acts since Timmy has to save Earth from getting burned by the sun.
  2. The ending is good, with Timmy finally wishing everyone to go back to normal.
    • There is even a hilarious ending where Cosmo gets popped by two Cowboys after he finds both of them using their spurs.
      • Speaking of hilarious, while the second act is weird, it does have funny moments.
        • "Chompy! Do these pants make my butt look big?"
        • "And now I think I'll run a marathon, but first... FAIRY GODPARENTS' FAIRY GODPARENTS' FAIRY GODPARENTS!"
          • In the first act, Cosmo playing around the bubble is hilarious.
  3. This is one of the few times Cosmo was right about Timmy, when he talks about how desserts are, the former tells him about the side effects like sugar rush and weight.
  4. Good Moral: Eat nutritious food, it is good for your health.
