Just the Two of Us! is the 18th episode or the second half of episode 9 of season 4, as well as the 89th episode overall of The Fairly OddParents

Plot

In the local ice rink in Dimmsdale, Timmy has to date a girlfriend named Trixie, but there are too many guys fawning over her. However, when Timmy wishes everyone, but he and Trixie, to disappear, they have fun at first only for the latter to act crazy due to the lack of guys fawning over her.

Crazy Qualities

  1. Poorly-written concept that focuses on Trixie being crazy over boys due to Timmy's wish to make everyone disappear.
  2. Speaking of BQ #1, Trixie is dumbed down in this episode from a lovely, popular girl to a crazy stalker due to her addiction to dating guys. Once she progresses, she becomes a psychopath when Timmy nervously breaks up with her.
  3. Timmy is responsible for making Trixie an antagonist because he wishes everyone to disappear to hang out with her, which makes him the antagonist, not Trixie.
  4. This episode has many plot holes:
    • The biggest offender is Timmy wishing everyone to disappear because he wanted to hang out with Trixie on a date, which contradicts Wanda's Day Off as he wishes the roaches to disappear, but it fails; instead, Wanda wishes them to transport in the Fairy Spa.
    • Mark Chang is shown dating Trixie, despite his fear of girls in the previous episodes, and only loves Vicky for her mean-spirited personality.
    • How do the students go on a field trip in the skating rink at night?
    • After Timmy wishes everyone to appear on Earth and Trixie reverts her memories, she does not fix and clean up the items used in the mall nor get arrested for her psychotic behavior.
  5. Cosmo, while hilarious, is pointless in this episode, as he monologues to Wanda for fawning over her.
    • At one point, he even intercepts Wanda's wish of unwishing Timmy's wish; this makes the plot worse as a result.
  6. There is a filler scene where Mark Chang gets arrested by the police and pretends he is a girl scout who sells cookies for them.
  7. Although not too often, the lines, "gosh, you're pretty!", and, "tell me I'm pretty!", can be annoying at times.
  8. Missed opportunities for four reasons:
    • If Cosmo is removed from this episode since he interrupted Wanda's wish, it would make the episode better without him.
    • Timmy could have just unwished earlier, after hanging out with Trixie in school.
    • Timmy could have said sorry to Trixie about what he did at the end of this episode, because of his wish of him and her being the only beings before saying to himself.
    • Timmy's parents or Jorgen do not appear in this episode, but he could have ground Timmy for making a rule violation.
      • While Crocker appears at the end, he could have scolded Timmy for wishing him and everyone to disappear.
  9. While Timmy gets his karma, it is too light and could have added some more consequences to make satisfaction at the end of this episode.

Pretty Qualities

  1. Even though Timmy is responsible for the violations, he is still likable in this episode.
    • He even gets a minor comeuppance from AJ at the end of the episode, by creating a violent wish for making everyone disappear.
  2. Additionally, Wanda, AJ, and Chester are likable characters too.
  3. The scenes where Timmy and Cosmo are biting their respective arms are hilarious to watch.
  4. Moral: It is important to have time for yourself.
  5. The scene where Trixie twitched her eyes was kind of funny.
  6. The title card is as usual, well-drawn and pretty great by the show's own standards.

Trivia

  • The scene where Trixie twitches her eyes, as seen in Pretty Quality #5, spawned an internet meme.
