Knowledge is the 9th episode of the 2nd season of Teen Titans Go!.

Synopsis

Starfire is tired of not being able to fit in with the other Titans, so she asks Raven to help her to learn more about Earth culture. Raven casts a spell to give Starfire all human knowledge there is, but it backfires when she becomes a complete bummer.

Why It Lacks Knowledge

  1. Repeated Lesson: This episode repeats a “lesson” that the show taught a few episodes already, “being smart is not good and everyone will hate you.” This lesson is just tired at this point.
  2. Nonsensical Opening: The beginning makes no sense, Robin wants to go the beach, why? “It’s the perfect beach day.” But once Starfire yawns, everyone falls asleep and Robin locks them up and gets angry at Starfire when they all wake up because there will not be “a perfect beach day” in a 100 years, which makes no sense because Robin can go to beach any time he wants, there’s no “perfect beach day”.
  3. Afterwards, Raven realizes Starfire is unteachable when she asks Raven to help her not be too literal. So, she uses a magical pendant to make Starfire a genius.
  4. The middle is unbearable because it’s just Starfire spouting random facts and Robin, Beast Boy, and Cyborg screaming “bummer!”.
  5. Starfire with an oversized brain is disgusting.
  6. The battle between Cyborg, Beast Boy, and Robin and The Source is disgusting because she explodes into black goo.
    • The Source’s voice is annoying too because her voice is just Starfire’s on helium.
  7. Bad ending: Starfire is back to normal and the show again repeats the “if you’re a genius, everyone will hate you.” lesson.
  8. Just like with many episodes in the series, the title is bad and generic.

Redeeming Qualities

  1. The montage of Starfire being too literal is hilarious.
  2. Raven’s song is a clever homage to Schoolhouse Rock.
  3. ”Your song is so kitten, dude!”
