Lion Studios is a mobile game publisher. The company was founded in around 2018 and headquartered in San Francisco, California.

Why You Can't Climb the Charts with Them

  1. Most of their games have horrible and outdated graphics that look like that they were made from early 2000s due to being rushed.
    • Their 2D games, such as Save the Girl and Club Hunter aren’t even much better except for Sprout: Idle Garden, TSL, Mr. Bullet, and Happy Glass as the 2D graphics looks quite mediocre and choppy, which looks like that they were from early 2000s flash games or a cheap Scratch project made by student.
    • Half of their games are NOT made by them, as the package names (Ex: com.dev.game) are always different. Their website even has a game submission portal, further proving the point.
  2. Their ads are abysmal, mostly consisting of "Me vs. My [family member]" and even some of their recent ads with people’s reaction is rather stolen.
  3. Similar to Voodoo, ads pop up after you complete a level in a game. After you complete the tutorial in one of their games, an ad appears!
  4. They made a Karen-themed game. No joke! They can cash in on any trend that's happening in the world and make it a game.
    • They also made a game based on murder hornets.
  5. Some of their games are endless and can make gamers bored after 10-20 minutes of gameplay.
  6. They are extremely perverted as some of their games are about pregnancy or even lesbianism.
  7. Some of their games are rip-offs.
    • Coin Trip is a rip-off of Coin Master.
  8. Quantity over quality: Like most of the hated mobile game companies like Voodoo and Saygames, they're milking to make rip-off games.
  9. Some of their games don't even have sound effects at all, and it's mostly silent, except for their 2D games.
    • While their 2D games have sound effects, they sound generic.
  10. Similar to Z&K games, they rush their games every year for no reason at all other than to pump out more money.
  11. It turns out that they're only making games for fame and money as their website states, "Climb onto the charts with us!" and "We turn mobile games into chart topping hits".
  12. Plagiarism: Their name logo is rather unoriginal, and it sounds more like Lionhead studios. Even worse, their logo is a rip-off of the Brave Browser logo.
  13. Their soundtracks of each game are dreadful and forgettable, which sound like stock music from freesound.org.
  14. Like most shovelware companies, they can't take criticism.
    • In some of their ads, if you click the ad, they disable the ratings and comments.
    • This is further proved with the rating system as all of their games, despite the negative reviews, have a 5-star rating max. They even use sockpuppet accounts to give positive reviews.
    • In fact, some of the reviews make no sense, such as a person giving them 4 stars while complaining about the ads, but then states that it's "not that bad".
  15. Some of their games are just reskins, showing how lazy they are.
    • Club Hunter is a reskin of Save the Girl because it has the exact same colors.
    • The Superheroes League is a reskin of Mr. Bullet because it has the same character and enemies.
  16. While their games don't have microtransactions, their game Mr. Bullet has microtransactions which you can buy the VIP with unlimited cash and tickets.

Redeeming Qualities

  1. Despite all of their games are really bad, they made some decent games, such as Sprout: Idle Garden and Happy Glass.
  2. While their 2D games aren’t even better than their 3D games, some of their 2D games like The Superheroes League, Mr Bullet, Happy Glass and Sprout: Idle Garden has beautiful graphics.
  3. Their games can appeal to casual gamers.
  4. Before they started to make ads out of their games, they used to be a chill company.

Trivia

  • Their logo looks similar to the Brave browser logo.
