"Little Angel" (FRFlag Mi-ange, Miaou!) is the 6thUS/1stEU episode from the third season of The Garfield Show.
Synopsis
A newcomer has just shown up in the neighbourhood: Angel, a sweet meek homeless kitten that Jon invites home. But that Angel is an evil cat in disguise and Garfield has to get rid of him as soon as possible...
Why It's Not An Angel
- It is a 11 minutes long torture episode for Garfield, and is just as bad as "King Nermal". As Angel do everything just so Garfield get kicked off the house.
- Angel is an extremely unlikable character that is somehow even worse than Nermal in the seasons 1 & 2, as he does everything to ruin his owners, and because of Jon stupidity, he think that it's Garfield that did all those mess when in reality it was Angel the whole time.
- First off, he cause massive troubles at the kitchen and eat everything, even worse he did eat the cake that Garfield wasn't allowed to, and because of this, Garfield got accused by Jon.
- He do also cause a huge mess in the living room, to the point that not even Garfield is capable of doing this much troubles, and because of this, Jon punish Garfield once again and kick him off the house.
- He is overall a very big manipulator and one of the worst character of the whole series.
- The scene where Jon kick Garfield off the house is extremely mean-spirited, and is even worse than the way he did in "King Nermal".
- It was a horrible way to start season 3, the season where the show had improved.
- Aside from Angel, Jon and Odie (somewhat) are unlikable.
- Odie chase Garfield because he wanted to stop Angel from causing anymore troubles, but howewer to be fair, he might not being aware of Angel's troubles.
- Jon once again is unlikable because he blame Garfield for things that Angel did, and even kicked off Garfield off the house, which is considered animal abuse.
- Harry, while still a likable character, serve absolutely no purpose other than fillers, howewer he did comfirmed that Angel is somehow older than Garfield.
- Plot Hole:
- How does Odie at the end did know about all the craps that Angel did even though he only seen him eating Liz gift, howewer Garfield might had tell him off screen.
- Also, at the end of the episode, we didn't seen Jon since we doesn't see any mentions of him again when he did kick off Garfield off the house, so Garfield fate is unknow.
- The beginning show Angel being kicked off, while he is sad, which is supposed to make you feel bad for him but it had a generic plot twist about revealing that he is actually an evil cat, which is obvious from the start and because of this, that scene is almost pointless.
- While the ending is somewhat decent because of Garfield getting rid of Angel, it isn't really know if Garfield was allowed to get in the house again or even it is unknow if Jon did try to found Angel, even Garfield point that they don't know if it's finish until they make a sequel to this episode, which it thankfully didn't.
- In fact, because of Angel not appearing in any future episodes and the fact that this episode is never mentionned ever again just make it an unnecessary filler, and not to mention that it is the beginning of a season, howewer thankfully the next episodes are way better than this.
Redeeming Qualities
- Garfield is still likable as usual and we can easily feel sorry for him because of how poorly treated he is here.
- Odie became more tolerable at the end since he did know about Angel's troubles.
- The plan that Garfield did made for having Angel kicked off is actually very clever, and was one of the only good scenes in the episode.
- Some funny moments, such as in the beginning where Garfield did wanted to eat the cake, until that Jon tell him no and he shoot No Cake, No Cake., which is actually very hilarous.
- Angel thankfully doesn't appear in any other episodes of the series, which mean that this episode is non-canon.
Trivia
- The plot of the episode is similar to "Pest of a Guest".
- Garfield repeats his "No, no... in that order" quote from "Down on the Farm".
- The warning sign from "Not So Sweet Sound of Music" was reused in this episode as a background prop at a construction site.
