"Little Ed Blue" is the 11th episode of Season 4 and the 88th episode of Ed, Edd n Eddy. In this episode, Ed becomes dangerously angry and violent thanks to a pebble in his shoe, so Edd and Eddy try to cheer him up, but they only end up pestering him even more.

Why It's Little Ed Blue

  1. This episode demonstrates just how dangerous Ed can be when he's angry, and it's a truly awesome spectacle throughout, especially his tantrum towards the end where he destroys the playground.
  2. Sarah and Kevin receive some karma for their behavior in previous episodes no thanks to Ed; Ed actually manages to scare Sarah into backing off with his temper, telling her to move away from him and Kevin is batted away by Ed using Eddy as a baseball bat.
  3. The humor, as always, is still hilarious, like when Eddy and Double D search Ed's room to find something to cheer him up and Eddy stumbles upon a magazine that appears to be an adult magazine but turns out to be full of pictures of baby chicks.
  4. Strong and memorable dialogue such as:
  5. The way Ed is animated throughout the episode highlights the intensity of his situation, particularly this face he makes at Edd and this face when Eddy ignites his tantrum.
  6. Creatively amusing visual gags provided in Edd & Eddy's failed attempts to cheer up Ed such as Eddy's head after having it closed inside a comic book.
  7. The beginning already gets the episode off to a good start, with Eddy and Double D screening a caveman movie they made in Ed's garage and a food fight ensuing after Eddy accidentally spills popcorn on Jimmy.
    • No refunds were shown being given out, so this may be one of the few of the Eds' scams that worked somewhat.
  8. It has a great message about how trying to cheer somebody up without knowing why they're in a bad mood will only make things worse, as demonstrated by Eddy and Double D's attempts at cheering up Ed without knowing that it was a pebble in his shoe that made him upset only making him angrier.
  9. Good ending: Jonny, under Plank's instruction, removes Ed's shoe and the pebble lodged inside falls out, reverting Ed back to his joyful demeanor. Eddy then falls into a fit of crazed laughter over this fact, which Ed joins in on.

BIG TROUBLLLLLE!!!!! Qualities

  1. Even if the ending was decent, the plot twist where it turns out Ed's bad mood was caused by a pebble in his shoe is somewhat trivial to the point where even Edd questions it.
  2. Kevin's line "This movie sucks eggs" came off as inappropriate for a kids' show since it sounds like "This movie sucks ass".
  3. This episode can be mean-spirtied while Ed become dangerously angry and violent thanks to a pebble in his shoe,

Reception

The episode is well-regarded among the Ed, Edd n Eddy fanbase. Along with its sister episode, it has a 7.5/10 on IMDb.
