Summary

While the Unova League prepares to move to the third round, Ash and friends face a case of lost and found when Iris' Axew wanders off during the evening celebrations.

Why It Should've Been Left at the League

  1. This is basically a filler episode (even if all the events here are canon).
    • Additionally, a lot of the humor falls flat and has boring moments that serve no purpose to the episode (such as the fireworks at the end).
  2. It also serves as a torture episode for Iris’ Axew, as after getting lost, he got flung around and hurt by the Garbordor along with Pikachu, Scraggy, Emolga, and Oshawott.
  3. Iris is very unlikable in this episode because she didn’t even watch Axew, causing Axew to get lost in the area, and leading to all of the chaos.
  4. Like some past league episodes, it has a battle Ash had, but it’s skipped to the end, with him winning as usual, as well as some of his other rivals.
  5. The plot about Iris’ Axew getting lost wasn’t good and sounds like a filler episode, but it’s not, as it takes place in the MIDDLE OF THE LEAGUE! That’s right, there’s no league action at all, not counting the battle that was skipped to the end.
  6. The comedy falls flat in this episode, with many unfunny moments, like when Cameron’s tent kept getting knocked down.
  7. Many annoying parts in the episode, like some of the character's overreactions to little problems.
  8. Oshawott stole food from the Trubbish and Garbordor, which was very mean-spirited. Granted, Oshawott didn’t know they were some other Pokémon’s food, but still.
  9. Eventually, Garbordor attacked Oshawott and the other Pokémon in rage for stealing its and the Trubbish’s food, which was not good.
  10. Predictable ending where the gang finds Axew and the others, and Virgil calms down the Garbordor and Trubbish with a Soothe Bell, and the heroes give food to them to make up for Oshawott’s mistake.

Redeeming Qualities

  1. The animation and voice acting are still good as usual.
  2. Oshawott does get comeuppance for his actions.
