MP4orce (released in the United States as MP4orce - Beyond Real is a 2006 German animated series following four teens, Cooder, Kayce, Laylen, and Benny, who transform into video game avatars Thrash, Kickablast, Screemplay, and Reverb to battle Tenebrous, a video game villain from the MP4orce video game that they play in the arcade. Tenebrous has escaped into the real world due to the aid of Damian Darkstone, a player who opposes them as the enemy character Devlan13, and the Game Guardian has recruited them to oppose him.
Why It Beyond for Real Sucks
- The animation is bland.
- There are generic characters present.
- Its episodes are boring to watch.
- The show is a rip-off of Code Lyoko.
- It also looks like a rip-off of Winx Club, which premiered two years before this, due to the similar art style.
- Devlan13 is a generic and weak villain.
Redeeming Qualities
- The theme song is badass and catchy.
- Thrash can be likable at times.
Reception
MP4orce was panned by critics and audiences.
Trivia
- Michael Hefferon would go on to create and produce the critically panned ReBoot: The Guardian Code, which this happens to be loosely based on. He was Chief Creative Officer of Rainmaker Entertainment, one of the production companies.
