MP4orce (released in the United States as MP4orce - Beyond Real is a 2006 German animated series following four teens, Cooder, Kayce, Laylen, and Benny, who transform into video game avatars Thrash, Kickablast, Screemplay, and Reverb to battle Tenebrous, a video game villain from the MP4orce video game that they play in the arcade. Tenebrous has escaped into the real world due to the aid of Damian Darkstone, a player who opposes them as the enemy character Devlan13, and the Game Guardian has recruited them to oppose him.

Why It Beyond for Real Sucks

  1. The animation is bland.
  2. There are generic characters present.
  3. Its episodes are boring to watch.
  4. The show is a rip-off of Code Lyoko.
    • It also looks like a rip-off of Winx Club, which premiered two years before this, due to the similar art style.
  5. Devlan13 is a generic and weak villain.

Redeeming Qualities

  1. The theme song is badass and catchy.
  2. Thrash can be likable at times.

Reception

MP4orce was panned by critics and audiences.

Trivia

  • Michael Hefferon would go on to create and produce the critically panned ReBoot: The Guardian Code, which this happens to be loosely based on. He was Chief Creative Officer of Rainmaker Entertainment, one of the production companies.
