Mad Max 2 (released as The Road Warrior in the United States, or fully titled, Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior) is a 1981 Australian post-apocalyptic action film directed by George Miller. It's a sequel to 1979's Mad Max, It is the second installment in the Mad Max film series, with Mel Gibson reprising his role as "Mad" Max Rockatansky.
Plot
Many years after the world turned into an apocalypse deserted world due to lack of water, and oil, A former police officer is now a lone wanderer. He lives to survive and is none too pleased when he finds himself the only hope of a small group of honest people running a remote oil refinery.
Why It Rocks
- This is a huge improvement over the first predecessor, with more epic stuff than the first Mad Max movie has, in addition, it is more of a thriller than the first movie and more likable characters in the wasteland.
- Max Rockatansky is such a badass, and he still more of a likable character than he was in the first movie.
- Rather than taking place in pre-apocalypse, the idea of a film taking place in a post-apocalypse deserted Australia is a good idea for a Mad Max film, which it even makes the turned Mad Max franchise into a huge Post-apocalypse fun and even more thrills than the first movie.
- The story has lots of crazy, fun, and more thriller moments, and the whole story is pretty much exciting ride, leaving the moviegoer's reaction very satisfying.
- Well solid, and pretty much of a insane acting throughout the movie.
- Gyro Captain is also likable too, he is an autogyro pilot who roamed The Wasteland partner of Max Rockatansky, he also defended Max throughout the movie, protecting Max, such as bringing his helicopter to take him back to a wasteland town.
- Lots of amazing action scenes, and as well as the chase scenes are even more outstanding than Mad Max because the chase scene brings weapons and guns during a road chase.
- In fact, the movie would've officially turned the Max Max franchise into a horror, action thriller film with loads of scares.
- It has scary jumpscares, such as the end of the movie where a Feral Kid tires to reach a bullet and get jumpscare by Lord Humungous in front of the tanker truck.
- Brilliant cinematography.
- The soundtrack that was performed by Brian May is even more outstanding than his soundtrack than the first movie, in addition, it has more suspense and more horror mix of the soundtrack.
- Epic final battle with a gang of the enemy gangs of warriors battling against the tanker truck and as well the final crash scene.
- There is minimal dialogue, feeling like a silent film with sound. What's the #1 rule of cinema? Show, don't tell.

The film was well-received by critics and audiences alike, it is considered to be one of the greatest action movies ever made, as well as one of the greatest sequels ever made. On Rotten Tomatoes, it had a 94% rating based on 51 reviews and a 86% audience score rating on the same site, as of 23 August 2019 with an average rating of 8.43/10 and with the consensus, "The Road Warrior is everything a bigger-budgeted Mad Max sequel should be: bigger, faster, louder, but definitely not dumber." Metacritic scores a film a 77/100 Generally favorable reviews, based on 15 Critic Reviews, and an 8.5/10 user score rating on the same site, and a 7.6/10 on IMDb.
