Making the Grade is the eighth episode of the second and the sixtieth episode of The Loud House.

Plot

Lincoln's social life is at stake when his 4-year-old sister Lisa, is put into his fifth-grade class.

Bad Qualities

  1. Lisa is unlikable at the beginning of the episode. She is also unlikable when at home.
  2. Rusty, Liam, and Zach are also unlikeable as they make Lincoln sit at the sticky table after being annoyed by Lisa becoming cool, even though it clearly wasn't his fault.
  3. Lincoln’s sisters take it out on him when Lisa becomes normal after Lola lost a phone competition, Luna couldn't get help on her math test, and when Lynn Sr. didn't get her opinion on his dinner dish.
  4. Lisa frames Lincoln for the changes and as stated in WIS#2, it made his friends along with his family furious at him.
  5. Lisa quits science when she becomes cool.
  6. Lisa’s teacher is even unlikable to Lincoln when he hardly did anything, and accusing him of getting all the kids sick
  7. Lincoln’s sisters and backup friends don’t get punished and are remorseless (only Lincoln’s sisters) for their cruel actions.
  8. One of the worst scenes of the episode is where Lincoln is pushed out of the van, which was not only mean-spirited but it send kids the wrong message to blame someone for changing someone and being cruel that person for no reason.
  9. This episode is yet another harsh Lincoln torture episode.

Good Qualities

  1. Lisa shouting food fight is funny, even if they get sent to the principal's office.
  2. Good Ending: Lisa ends up saving the day by becoming smart again and curing her sick kindergarten friends. And Lincoln’s backup friends do say sorry for their harsh behavior and allow him to hang due to Liam's sister being cured.
  3. A nice SpongeBob reference in Lisa's flashback with a sea sponge, starfish, crab, and octopus referencing SpongeBob SquarePants, Patrick Star, Mr. Krabs, and Squidward Tentacles.
  4. Lincoln, Clyde, SpongeBob, Patrick, Squidward, and Mr. Krabs (despite the latter four making a cameo reference in this episode) are still likable characters.
    • Lily is the only sister not to hate Lincoln.
    • Lisa did redeem herself at the end.
  5. At least the sisters didn’t pretend to disown him.

Reception

A lot of fans hated the fact Lincoln was mistreated in the episode. Despite that, it got an 8.2/10 on IMDb.
