Man vs. Bee is a British comedy series created by Rowan Atkinson and William Davies for Netflix. The series streamed on June 24, 2022 along with season 2 of Angry Birds: Summer Madness.
Plot
Trevor Bingley tries to house-sit for the Kolstad-Bergenbattens, but he is interupted by a solitary bee.
Qualities That Should Be Stung
Note: This series was intentionally made to be ridiculous, don't take the bad qualities seriously
- The concept of a comedy about a human-vs-bee rivalry is very dumb, it would work better if as a standalone series or a cartoon, but a story arc???!!!, it may look better as a Netflix movie.
- Some of the characters badly written.
- Trevor Bingley focuses on killing the bee more than house-sitting the house, which causes him to be inresponsible in house-sitting. He is also a Butt-Monkey.
- The Bee does not serve anything in the story besides annoying Trevor.
- Cupcake Kolstad-Bergenbatten, the family's pet collie-poodle cross dog, is a Butt-Monkey, she eats peanut butter despite his peanut allergy, poisoned by sprays and having a bee house fall on her.
- Christian Kolstad-Bergenbatten is out of place twist-villain as it turns out he paided the burglars for robbery and claims fake insurances.
- Gross-out scenes like Trevor falling on Cupcake's poop after Cupcake bit his butt.
- Trevor and the Bee's rivalry is very pointless and serves as filler even though the show is called MAN VS BEE.
Good Qualities
- It started the return of Rowan Atkinson's comedy career.
- The Bee and Cupcake are very cute.
- Despite being out of place, at least Christian Kolstad-Bergenbatten got his comeuppance for getting Trevor arrested at the end of the series.
- Good Ending: Trevor and his daughter, Maddy finally got to their vacation.
