"Mickey's Speedway USA" is a 2000 racing game developed by Rare and published by Nintendo using Disney's licensing for Mickey Mouse.

Why It Rocks

  1. Awesome soundtrack and racetracks to choose from.
  2. Even though this game on both versions seem to use the engines from other games. For example, the Nintendo 64 version of this game uses the Diddy Kong Racing engine, while the Game Boy Color version uses the Mickey's Racing Adventure engine, it does make perfect sense to reuse both engines for this game.
  3. Awesome graphics for 2000s standards on both versions, even if they are similar to Mario Kart and Diddy Kong Racing in a way.
  4. Tight and responsive controls.
  5. A ton of likable characters are present, which are Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, and Pete.
    • There are even unlockable characters, which are Huey, Dewey, Louie, and Ludwig Von Drake.
  6. You can do multi-player with your friends here, which is always a fun thing to do.
  7. This could introduce new generations to the entire Disney franchise, especially for N64 and Rare fans.
  8. Lot of tracks to choose from, which are all great.
  9. The Game Boy Color version is just as great and is a very fun clone of R.C. Pro-Am (another game made by Rare), and the game is more challenging than the N64 version.

Bad Qualities

  1. Minor false advertising: Pete is driving his yellow car in the box, but in the game, he drives a brown car, and Pete wears blue shirt on the box, but in the game, he wears brown.
  2. On the Game Boy Color version of this game, it can be a bit tricky to see where you're going because of the screen crunch.
