Miguelito is a Brazilian children TV series released on July 17, 2000 on RedeTV!, it's extremely controversial for being a Brazilian rip-off of El Chavo del Ocho. Due to low ratings, it was taken off the air after five days of airing. The episodes that were aired on television were not found until 2023, when the grandson of one of the series' actors Luiz Bacelli posted them on YouTube.
Why It Sucks
- To took of Señor Barriga, I mean... Ñoño, NO! The elephant out of the room, it's a Brazilian rip-off of El Chavo del Ocho.
- Weak and forced acting, especially from Eduardo Estrela (Miguelito's actor).
- Unfunny jokes.
- Every character is a rip-off of El Chavo del Ocho characters:
- The titular protagonist is an obvious rip-off of the original titular protagonist.
- Marquinho is Quico's rip-off.
- Lilica is La Chilindrina and Popis's rip-off, sharing also Monica from Monica and Friends and Peppa Pig's personalities, despite Miguelito was released before Peppa Pig.
- Bolão is Ñoño's rip-off.
- Seu Flodoaldo is Don Ramón's rip-off.
- Dona Tita is Doña Florinda's rip-off, sharing also Momma Robotnik and Rochelle Rock's personalities, despite Miguelito was released before Everybody Hates Chris.
- Seu Picoco is Profesor Jirafales's rip-off, but being the corner sale owner, instead of teacher.
- Dona Leopoldina (or Dona Dina) is another Profesor Jirafales's rip-off, sharing also Profesora Helena Fernandéz from Carussel, Dona Bela from Escolinha do Professor Raimundo and Daphne Blake's personalities.
- Seu Otávio is Señor Barriga's rip-off, sharing also Dr. Abobrinha from Castelo Rá-Tim-Bum and Lemmy Over Trash from Woody Woodpecker's personalities.
- Dona Carola is Doña Nieves and Doña Clotilde's rip-off.
- Godinez, Paty, Jaimito and Doña Nieves are the only recurring characters to not having an rip-off.
- It only have six episodes found, these are the only episodes who are avaliable in YouTube.
- The intro is way too similar to SBT's El Chavo intro.
- The series' soundtrack plagiarizes El Chavo's soundtrack and is very similar to the soundtrack of the same series that it rip-offs.
Trivia
- Initially, the program was originally going to premiere on January 31, 2000 on Record. Days before, the premiere was canceled and moved to March, however, it was practically discarded by Record, due to high expenses. The series ended up being transferred to RedeTV!
