Even egg-centric geniuses like myself have hearts - Dr. Eggman, Sonic X

Mike Pollock is an American voice actor and former radio personality. He is best known as the voice actor for Dr. Eggman from the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise since 2003 as well as many characters in various anime English dubs and video games. Other voices he did include Adon Coborlwitz from Berserk and the narrator, Raoul, Contesta, and Draden from the Pokémon series. Born on March 9 of 1965, he was the son of Herb Lawrence Pollock who graduated from Roslyn High School in 1983. Despite all of this, he did face harassment on Twitter one time.

Background

Around February 19, 2021, it was reported that Mike got harassed on Twitter by an unknown user who told Mike to change his Twitter name to "itsakike" and even went as far as paying him. Mike told the user that he does not take requests. When that happened the user ended up using an anti-Semitic slur and used the "I'm bored" excuse. Mike replied with a "Huh. Do you know any Jewish people". The user replied, "I've met a few. Got no problem with them. I picked that word because it was offensive and had a similar spelling and rhymed". Mike knew that it was considered hate speech yet the unknown user said that Mike wasn't Jewish. As the conversation went going, Mike showed a picture of a piece of jewelry that had a Jewish star on it.

Aftermath

Mike later posted a Tweet about the harassment that occurred and criticized the user how they tried to be clever around Mike when they used a slur in front of Mike. In the comments, Mike later said "Please refrain from responding with character references. This is real life, and I've never been more serious." Many people did support Mike during this time and it's gone to the point that Lizzie Freeman and Roger Craig Smith also did support him in the comments.
