NBA In The Zone 2000, known in Japan as NBA Power Dunkers 5, is a basketball game developed by Konami Computer Entertainment Osaka and published by Konami, released in early 2000. It is the fifth and final game in the NBA In The Zone series.

Why It's Zoned Out

  1. It was rushed to be released at the beginning of the year because Konami recently signed a deal with ESPN to make sports games for next generation consoles under a new brand.
  2. It is a shameful reskin of NBA In The Zone '99, which was also terrible.
  3. It has the same horrible PA announcer from the past games.
  4. Like the previous game, it has lazy player modeling.
  5. Players only have a limited number of moves they can perform.
  6. Gameplay can be slowed down at most cases.
  7. Dunk contest, while being an addition in the Nintendo 64 version, has some control issues.

The Only Redeeming Quality

  1. The PlayStation version has a great intro video.

Reception

NBA In The Zone 2000 received unfavorable reviews from the critics.
