NFL Tour is an American football game released in early 2008 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles. It is the final game in the NFL Street series.
Why It's No Tour
- Executive meddling: It was originally going to be released as NFL Street 4, which would have marked the series' true debut on next generation consoles, but EA ditched the idea and turned it into a game that throws out some elements from the Arena Football games.
- It lacks the wit and charm of the previous NFL Street games, due to how downgraded the gameplay is and also because of a lack of contents.
- Style moves are very limited.
- The A.I. is broken, especially that of defense.
- The stadiums are literally similar, with each other having similar level design, this is also a similar case to the modern FIFA games that suffer from the exact same thing.
- There are only night-time games.
- Lazy playbook design, for the most part.
- Players have little to no dialogue, which is unnaceptable for a 2008 game, and it doesn't help that there was games released the same year with more dialogues.
- Horrible commentary that was done by Trey Wingo.
Redeeming Qualities
- It features an okay selection of licensed songs.
- The graphics are decent for a 2008 game, due to being colorful.
Reception
NFL Tour received unfavorable reviews from the critics. On Metacritic, it holds a score of 49 for the Xbox 360 and 45 for the PlayStation 3.[1]
