NHL Blades of Steel 2000 is an ice hockey game developed by Konami Computer Entertainment Tokyo and published by Konami, released in early 2000 for the PlayStation and Game Boy Color. It is the final game in the Blades of Steel franchise. A Nintendo 64 version was advertised but it was canceled at the last minute.

Why It's Blades of Trash

  1. It was rushed to shelves for early 2000 because Konami recently signed a deal with ESPN to make games for next generation consoles under a new brand.
  2. Unresponsive controls, some of which are hard to perform.
  3. Players have mostly poor animations.
  4. The player modeling is awkward.
  5. In-game options are limited.
  6. It lacks practice and drill modes.
  7. Most of the music is generic and bland.

Reception

NHL Blades of Steel 2000 received unfavorable reviews from critics. GameSpot rated it 3.2 out of 10.
