狐忍 (Wùh yán, Fox Ninja) is the Cantonese dub of Naruto. It aired on Animax Hong Kong. The dub is very obscure and little people know about it. The dub is hard to find.

Why This Dub Doesn't Believe It

  1. Atrocious voice acting on par with Speedy Video's Dragon Ball dub.
    • Neji, Gaara, Sasuke, Shikamaru, Rock Lee, Choji, and Kiba sound like old women when in the American and Japanese versions, they actually sounded like men. Sasuke's, Gaara's and Neji's voices are the worst as they don't fit their designs and they are very hard to take seriously, especially in the Shippuden dub. As of season 5 of Shippuden, Gaara is voiced by a male actor.
    • Konohamaru's voice is especially awful, as it is very annoying to listen to.
    • Kabuto's voice, while decent, sounds like the voice actor was very tired.
  2. Horrible audio quality. Sometimes, you can even hear static noises.
  3. Poor picture quality. The images are blurry at times, and you can hardly tell what's going on.
  4. Some of the voices are not synced to the animation. Most notable was when Itachi was introducing himself, the voice still continued to the next screen.
  5. Some of the lines are also changed from the Japanese dub to be more appropriate for a child audience, so swear words were censored out.
  6. Some of the background music has also been changed to very generic music during some scenes.
  7. Overall, this dub feels more like a bad fandub rather than an official dub.

Qualities That Believe It

  1. Some of the voices are decent or even good, such as Naruto, Kakashi, Sakura, Kabuto (despite the voice actor sounding tired), Orochimaru, Jiraiya, Itachi, Might Guy and Iruka's voices.
  2. Naruto is still a good show; it's just that the same can't be said about this dub.
  3. They did dub every single episode up to the final episode of Shippuden.

Reception

While there are no reviews online, several YouTube commenters have pointed out how bad the dub is as well as how the voices, especially Sasuke's, sound really off.
