Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4, known in Japan as Naruto Shippūden: Narutimate Storm 4, is a fighting game developed by CyberConnect2 and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Steam in February 2016.

Why It Is Ultimate

  1. Excellent story mode that covers the end of the Great Ninja War. The story mode animated the end of Naruto before the anime.
  2. Really beautiful graphics.
  3. The soundtrack is awesome.
  4. Over 100 characters to choose from. Almost every major character from the anime series is playable.
  5. The combat is excellent and really fun.
  6. The game introduced team switching. You can now swap between characters in the game.
  7. Really tight and responsive controls.
  8. Tons of replay value.
  9. In 2017, an expansion called Road To Boruto was added. This mode covers the Boruto movie and adds the Boruto characters.
  10. There is also a side mode called Adventure mode, where you can explore Konoha.
  11. The game added characters that were never playable in a Naruto game before, such as Kaguya, Zetsu and Boruto.
  12. You can recreate almost every major battle in the Naruto series in this game.
  13. There are some unique team specials. Some never even showed up in the anime.
  14. The game has tons of content and fanservice.
  15. Several modes people hated from Storm Revolution were removed, such as the types and the Ninja World Tournament.
  16. Great voice acting in both Japanese and English.
  17. The game was a great deal, only costing $30 when it first came out.
  18. The combat has been improved from the previous Storm games.
  19. You can even play online against other players all over the world.
  20. Most of the characters are balanced and are very unique.

Bad Qualities

  1. The Adventure Mode, while decent, can be boring.
  2. The character customizable is absent in this game, meaning you can't create the character wherever you want.
  3. Some of the characters are underpowered and overpowered.
  4. The netcode is bad, they constantly lagging, freezing and sometimes disconnected for no apparent reasons.
  5. The Switch version has never been released physically outside of Asia.
  6. In The Story Mode, up until "Wind Rages, Thunder Races", some of the cutscenes are images from anime and it's somehow impossible to follow.
    • Speaking of "Wind Rages, Thunder Races", Madara didn't explained Rin's death unlike in the anime (Naruto Shippuden Episode 425). That could be misunderstandable for gamers who didn't watch the anime.

Reception

The game has received extremely positive reviews from Naruto fans and critics alike. Many people claim it to be the best Naruto game. Some people even call it the best anime game of all time.

WatchMojo ranked this game the 1st BEST in the Top 10 BEST & WORST Naruto games.[1]
