New Beijinging is the 10th episode of Total Drama Presents: The Ridonculous Race
Plot
Contestants must skydive eat exotic street food in the market so that they can enter the Chill Zone by riding on the wheelbarrow. Noah and Emma seem to struggle their time to make their own alliance while Carrie has to cope with her feelings for Devin. Meanwhile, Stephanie and Ryan seek victory in the challenge while the Rockers attempts to motivate to the challenge, only to end up in a disaster, but they are saved from the elimination.
Bad Beginning Qualities
- This episode is a Chinese Fake-Out of Ridonculous Race, but lost the charm and humor of that episode.
- This episode shows a wasted potential where contestants compete in a challenge in China making this episode a torture-fest:
- While several teams landed properly on the stadium, others suffer while parachuting; such as Jacques faceplanted on the billboard, the Sisters landed on the gong, and Reality TV Pros landed on the rickshaw due to the winds blow the three teams away.
- In the street food challenge, most contestants suffer and they have a hard time swallowing because the animals are exotic, especially the bats and scorpions, which would poison them in real-life. Not to mention, a few of them vomit in the challenge.
- There are other single contestants from their respective teams who suffer this situation during this challenge:
- Carrie is the worst offender, because she has a hard time swallowing exotic foods, yet she vomited several times.
- Dwayne had a swollen hand after getting stung while finding scorpions, forcing Junior to carry him before they are disqualified. Worst of all, Dwayne act hallucinated during the challenge, causing Junior to pull the rickshaw for him.
- Jacques also suffers from the scorpion incident, but unlike Dwayne, he somehow manages to survive the poison, despite the scorpion landing on his face.
- Noah struggles with eating street food, causing Emma to vomit on Carrie's bucket.
- There are other single contestants from their respective teams who suffer this situation during this challenge:
- After the street food challenge, one of the contestants has to pull the rickshaw while the other has to ride on it, but some of them suffer as they did in the second challenge:
- Josse is unaware of the banana peel on the ground, causing her to trip and Jacques to send him flying onto the Great Wall.
- Ryan quickly pulls the rickshaw to run faster, but the rocks bump it and cause Stephanie to get sick.
- While the Sisters are advancing in the race, Emma nearly tripped because there is a large rock, causing one of the rickshaw wheels to fall. This causes Owen to crush the wheel while traversing.
- Noah helps the Sisters' rickshaw move together, he has a swollen palm after holding it much longer. Though, he, Owen, and the Sisters make it to the chill zone.
- Stephanie and Ryan are unlikable to the point that they argue together while doing the three challenges. However, they still come to the chill zone first.
- The humor is weaker compared to Chinese Fake-Out, especially on Noah's gross-up mouth and Ice Dancers' bad luck.
- The close-up views of Noah and Stephanie's teeth having grease are gross to watch.
- Rock and Spud were supposed to get eliminated in this episode, which makes the scene more suspenseful, but Don changed his mind so that they can advance, meaning that they are saved from elimination since this was a non-elimination round; this implies that the ending comes out as forced.
New Beginning Qualities
- Similar to the Chinese Fake-Out from Total Drama World Tour, it has the concept of both challenges in eating food, this time it is street food instead of local delicacies food, although it is interesting to watch.
- Besides the food challenge, there is a different challenge called landing on the stadium by using a parachute while skydiving, which is not in World Tour but seen in Island's X-Treme Torture.
- Noah and Emma struggling to form an alliance with Owen and Kitty is emotional.
- The rest of the contestants, except the Daters, are likable. Even Rock and Spud are more likable in this episode and they show more humor than them.
- Despite the forced ending, it is nice to see the Rockers getting saved from the elimination.
