Nick Jr. Is Just For Us!

Nick Jr. is an American preschool TV network and programming block. It is a version of Nickelodeon for younger children.

Why it Used To Be Just for Us

Overall

  1. Aired a wide variety of programming such as:
    • Blue's Clues
    • Dora the Explorer
    • Ni-Hao, Kai-Lan
    • Wow! Wow! Wubbzy!
    • Wonder Pets!
    • LazyTown
    • Miss Spider's Sunny Patch Friends
    • The Backyardigans
    • Go, Diego, Go!
    • Max & Ruby
    • Oobi
    • Miffy and Friends
    • Olivia
    • Dino Dan
    • Pinky Dinky Doo
    • Yo Gabba Gabba!
    • Little Bill
  2. Iconic IDs, such as the "Frogs", "Kids" (known to fans as "Nick Jr. Kids"), "Trampoline", etc.

Block on Nickelodeon

  1. Great hosts like Face and Piper O'Possum.

Channel rename from Noggin (2009-2014)

  1. While renaming the channel from Noggin to Nick Jr wasn't necessary, it still aired great programming and Moose and Zee were still hosts until 2012.
  2. While the removal of Moose and Zee wasn't necessary, it still continued airing great programming until 2023.

Bad Qualities

Overall

  1. It went downhill because of the removal of classic programming and spamming PAW Patrol every day.
  2. Even before its downfall, both the block and the channel have slightly declined in quality since the 2012 rebrand with removing Moose and Zee from the channel with no replacement, and the branding package (while decent) isn't as great as the Noggin brand.
  3. Since 2009, The Just for Me jingle and Nick Jr. Productions have been retired.
    • Also since 2008, the "Frogs" ID got replaced by the Fish ID.
  4. There were a few bad/mediocre/meh shows on the block and channel, such as:
    • Peppa Pig

The Block

  1. In 2009, they renamed Nick Jr. to Nickelodeon Playdate, which was really unnecessary.
