Odd Bubbles Out is the 22nd episode of The Powerpuff Girls reboot.

Plot

Donny moves in with the girls for a week as part of a student exchange program, but at school, he starts hanging out with a girl named Chelsea, much to Bubbles' jealousy. But after Bubbles bends Donny's spoon in front of him and he runs out of the house, the girls find out that Chelsea lives in a volcano, which is actually Mojo Jojo's lair. They go there and see that Chelsea is actually a robot, engaging each other into a fight, and also see that Donny's magic is being drained for Mojo's death ray.

Why It's Odd (And NOT In A Good Way)

1. The start is a generic "exchange student is coming to stay" episode, with Donnie staying in the girls' house and him being a generic best friend to Bubbles. It has been done to death in many cartoons/sitcoms.
2. Speaking of which, Donny, like in "Horn Sweet Horn", is a generic and cringeworthy male unicorn – which is offensive to the trans community.
3. Chelsea, Donny's girlfriend is just your generic person who is in love and her song is basically a generic love song with unnecessary dancing penguins. Also, isn't falling in love with an animal considered zoophilia? It then turns out that she's actually a robot in disguise.
4. Bubbles is very unlikable here, as she grows jealous of Donny falling in love with Chelsea rather than making friends with her and even texts his name 4-5 times; plus, she breaks his special unicorn spoon, which is nothing but extremely petty jealousy.
5. Overall, the plot seems quite inconsistent with Donny and Bubbles being generic BFFs, and the next minute, being her growing jealous of Donnie over him having a girlfriend who turns out to be a robot.
6. The narrator once again never says anything at all.

Redeeming Qualities

1. Bubbles growing jealous of Donny can be justified due to Chelsea actually being one of Mojo Jojo's robot creations.
2. Blossom and Buttercup are still tolerable characters.
3. The ending was okay, with Bubbles apologizing to Donny and him being told by his parents that he has to catch the bus.
