Oh! My Ladylord (Korean: 오! 주인님) is a South Korean television drama that premiered in 2021 and stars Lee Min-ki and Nana. The series, directed by Oh Da-young, portrays the narrative of a relationship between a man who does not love and a woman who can't love. From March 24 to May 13, 2021, it aired on terrestrial television channel MBC on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 21:30 (KST) for 16 episodes. It is accessible as "Oh! Master" on iQIYI with subtitles in several languages worldwide.
Bad Qualities That Make Us Say "Oh My"
- The writing is similar to that of a badly written Wattpad fanfiction made by a 13-year-old.
- Messy plots, such as the moment where Oh Joo-in can't decide between Han Bi-soo and Yu Jin, so she says she likes both.
- Unbearable and unlikable characters. Especially with the male lead Han Bi-soo as becomes extremely jealous and is very narcissistic due to a traumatic event that he experienced at the age of 18. He is also very selfish, he chooses Nana over his dying mother, making a poor attempt into getting Oh Joo-in's attention. In fact, he is even sometimes rude to Nana, despite doing nothing wrong to him. Have the writers lost their minds, or what?!
- Very annoying side couples in the show to the point where they become very cheesy.
- It uses cliche K-drama plots, with the love triangle being the one that is the most prominent.
- Failed attempts at trying to make the viewers laugh without putting any effort into it whatsoever.
- The pacing felt very off, even some of the scenes had very bad endings.
- Bad fantasy elements that are left unexplained, so it's up to the viewer to make of it what they will.
- The good acting was wasted on a really poor quality script that makes no sense.
Good Qualities
- This K-drama, also known as Korean drama, was on to a good start, but sadly, everything started to fall apart.
- Like many Korean dramas, there are good and top-notch actors in this show, with Nana and Lee Min Ki just to name a few.
- The mother and her children's chemistry was good and very wholesome to watch.
- The dying mother can be likable, and you can feel pity and/or sympathize for her since Han Bi-soo chose Nana over her, which is something and is saying a lot.
Reception
The series has garnered mixed reactions, with people on IMDb giving it a 1/10, but others give it a 10/10. It currently sits at a whopping 5.8/10 and 6.7/10 on MyDramaList. Even though it does have its haters, the first episode on YouTube has 1.4k likes and 43 dislikes.
