Once Upon a Townsville is the 17th episode of The Powerpuff Girls reboot.

Plot

From a storybook universe, Princess Bluebelle tries to meet her Prince Charming but keeps ending up putting her life in danger - especially when she ends up in the modern-day era of Townsville.

Why It Should Get Bitten By A Zombie

1. The episode's plot is generic yet also nonsensical at the same time and a plot that barely fits the series theme. It follows a princess not being able to find her prince and accidentally ends up in Townsville. Bluebelle also sings a generic and corny song on how she got here, which again, is also unoriginal and done to death.
2. As mentioned above, all of the songs are extremely hard to listen to and have laughable lyrics.
3. Speaking of which, Princess Bluebelle is just your generic "damsel in distress" stereotype who looks for a hero to save her. But then, she changes her mind when Prince Charming comes with her really only caring about looks, while the Prince is just a generic gamer.
4. The rap song uses 5 stock images of real people taken straight from the Internet, which is extremely lazy to look at.
   • The girls sound like they're not even trying to rap in the aforementioned song too.
5. Some dated references here, such as the generic rap song as mentioned above and Buttercup saying "Boi!".
6. Too many animation errors even compared to the other episodes in the series, usually with parts of Bluebelle being colored incorrectly or missing such as her gloves. In addition, despite ripping a bit of her dress off when trying to save the Powerpuff Girls from the dragon, Bluebelle's dress suddenly reappears once the prince arrives but then disappears in the next few scenes until she reveals another dress under her leggings.
7. One point of the episode's climax involves Bluebelle trying to nearly kill herself multiple times in an attempt to beckon her prince. In a kids show, no less.
8. The girls once again don't do any crime-fighting here, mainly due to helping Princess Bluebelle. The narrator as always never says anything until the end.
9. The infamous scene where Bluebelle accidentally kisses Buttercup when she wakes up, thinking it is her prince, which is considered lesbian. That's not a bad thing normally, but Buttercup is only 8-10 years old. Though this wasn't intentional, it is still gross.
   • Buttercup thinks Bluebelle is a dead body or zombie when she falls from the sky unconscious.

Redeeming Qualities

1. Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup were tolerable in the episode.
2. The reference to the original show's ending was okay.
3. Princess Bluebelle's design is pretty cute.
4. The backgrounds are still beautiful to look at.
5. This episode executes the "be yourself" moral way better than another episode previously intended to, "Horn Sweet Horn".
6. The end of the rap with the explosion was admittedly cool.
