Out of the Picture is the 20th episode of the tenth season of SpongeBob SquarePants.
Plot
Mr. Krabs buys Squidward's art, but for it to make a profit, he has to get the artist out of the picture.
Bad Qualities
- For starters it's another 11-minute Squidward torture episode.
- Mr. Krabs is at his absolute worst as his flanderization has gone way too far as he tries to get Squidward "out of the picture" in various ways that no one would think he would ever do.
- One of his most notable ways is that to ensure that Squidward is complete "out of the picture", he had to prevent SpongeBob from helping him.
- Even without Squidward being tortured, the jokes here in this episode are pretty lame such as Squidward's art being so bad that it made Larry's eyes burn.
- The art appraiser who motivates Mr. Krabs to kill Squidward so that his paintings will be appreciated comes out of nowhere, thus making his appearance very forced.
- Bad Ending: Squidward and Mr. Krabs become art after the Krusty Krab's roof falls on them might be unsatisfying to many viewers.
Good Qualities
- Pretty much every character except Mr. Krabs and the art appraiser is likable.
- And to be fair, despite it being unsatisfying, Mr. Krabs did kind of deserve to be a piece of art for all that he's done to Squidward.
- "Rock Bottom" makes a reappearance in this episode, and that's a nice touch.
- Despite Squidward being tortured, most of the jokes are funny.
- It might be funny to some to see Squidward and Mr. Krabs becoming a piece of art, despite what BQ#5 says.
- The title is very fitting and clever, as it is about Mr. Krabs getting Squidward "out of the picture" over his pictures.
