Plot

Chicken, Flem, and Earl are enrolled in Junior High to play a game, called dodgeball, but things go south when their clothes are lost by the bullies.

Why It Doesn't Deserve Dodgeball

  1. The main problem with this episode is that Chicken, Flem, and Earl went to Junior High without explanation, which is a plot hole.
  2. This is a Chicken, Flem, and Earl torture episode.
  3. Cow serves no purpose in this episode and she is only there to cry at the girl who cannot enroll in Junior High.
    • Red Guy also serves no purpose in this episode as he only steals Chicken's suit after the bullies dropped it and the students' clothes on the grass.
  4. The bullies in Junior High are unlikable as they hurt Chicken, Flem, and Earl in dodgeball and humiliate them while being naked in the hallways, as well as the auditorium.
    • Greta is also unlikable, especially Chicken, as she wants the students to do some harsh training in P.E.
  5. The towels in Junior High are in the cafeteria, which makes no sense considering other schools have towels in the locker rooms or in the bathrooms, which are placed better than the former.
  6. Speaking of towels, they give Greta some items, especially a chicken egg; those would be a stupid excuse just to retrieve them.
    • Afterwards, Greta whips the three with a towel so that they can hurry up and get dressed.
  7. Embarassing Ending: When Chicken, Flem, and Earl state that Junior High is bad, they decide to go to 5th grade... but it is revealed that they were in the auditorium this whole time and everyone laughs, especially the bullies, causing the three to get embarrassed and humiliated by them.
  8. Overall, this episode is a completely wasted potential; Chicken, Flem, and Earl enrolled in Junior High so that they can study other subjects, not just P.E; for example, Math, Square Dancing, Science, etc. However, since this episode ironically features one subject, which is P.E., the trio never studied there because they quit, thus making it a complete mess of an otherwise decent episode.

Redeeming Qualities

  1. Chicken, Flem, and Earl are the only likable characters in this episode.
  2. At least this episode is nowhere near as bad as Copping an Aptitude from Dexter's Laboratory (which came out 3 years later after this episode), but it is still no better.
  3. Red Guy's line: "Oh, a chicken suit! Now I can DIE HAPPY!!"

Trivia

  • This episode has the shortest amount of symbols in the series, with only 2 (4 if the periods are counted).
