Paint the Town is the first part of episode 15 and the 27th episode of Season 2, as well as the 66th episode overall of Chowder.
Plot
Frustrated over Chowder's work by doing all the tasks incorrectly, he enters his room, but the wall breaks, causing a space to appear. He uses the finger paints to make his own land while Mung Daal, Schnitzel, and Truffles are searching for Chwder so that they can apologize.
Why It Does Not Paint The Town And It Wrong.
- Misleading Title: Chowder does not paint Marzipan city, he instead paints the empty space to create "Chowderland".
- The whole episode is mean-spirited to Chowder, with the pointers seen below.
- In the opening scene, Chowder does plenty of work for Mung, Schnitzel, and Truffles, but he fails to do so, causing them to shout "Wrong!".
- Chowder is horribly unlikable as he is losing sanity over Mung, Schnitzel, and Truffles for doing the work as well as doing favors for the citizens of Chowderland.
- In Chowderland, he is hallucinated and he does not seek attention to his friends.
- He also gets mad at Mung Daal after he did plenty of failed work causing the latter to lash out and go to his room.
- He even eats the green apple because he proclaims that it is the happiest land of the lands, causing the red apple to freak out.
- He never takes criticism at all after he told the citizens of Chowderland to do favors. As a result, he uses Pepperjack to be their companion instead.
- When Mung, Schnitzel, and Truffle are being chased by a horde of Pepperjacks, what does Chowder do? He uses a cabinet to cover the wall and block Chowder's path just to get away scot-free.
- Pepperjack is an annoying character and he serves no purpose outside of being a plot device.
- It even gets worse when it summons more of them just to get the citizens killed, especially Chowder.
- They are also unlikable to Schnitzel, even though he did nothing wrong.
- Chowderland looks ugly despite being colorful to look at.
- The close-up view of Chowder and Mung's hands are gross and wrinkled to look at.
- Plot Holes:
- Since when has Chowder had long legs?
- If he eats a teal-colored finger paint, yet he never gets sick, even though paints can make them sick when consumed.
- The ending ends with a cliffhanger, with Chowder covering the hole using a cabinet just to run away while Mung, Schnitzel, and Truffles are trapped in Chowderland causing them to get attacked by a hoard of Pepperjacks. This further proves that Chowder gets away scot-free and never learns his lesson.
Redeeming Qualities
- Mung, Schnitzel, and Truffles are likable characters in this episode.
- Mung is right about Chowder, and grown-ups cannot stop since they have the right to be responsible.
- While Gazpacho is pointless here, he is still likable in this episode.
- The scene where Chowder dances in CGI self is hilarious.
- Good Moral: According to Mung, grown ups should not be stopped otherwise, pure chaos would happen.
Trivia
- The plot of this episode is Harold and the Purple Crayon.
