Papa Löwe und seine glücklichen Kinder is an german animated series based on the book by Janosch (also known as Horst Eckert). Their shorts premiered on 9th September 2000, on the KI.KA game show, Die Tigerenten Club, then their show premiered on September 2003.

Plot

This show is about the Lion family, who experience various adventures. It focuses is on the seven children Liesel, Pauli, Alfred, Piller, Mariechen, Trilli and Friedi, while Mommy Lion is at work.

Warum man sich wirklich gut um die Löwenkinder kümmert (Why It Really Takes a Good Care of the Lion Kids)

1. The animation in it's show is really impressive and standard, especially the 2000 shorts and it's 2003 series.
2. There are some likable characters like Daddy Lion, Mommy Lion, Liesel, Trilli, Mariechen, Pauli, Piller, Friedi and Alfred.
3. The 2000 shorts are really great, sadly, it was seen that the other 24 shorts are in lost media, with their shorts being 15 on YouTube.
4. It has some good episodes like:
   • Das Krankmännchen (which was a good way to start the 2003 series)
   • Liebe ist...
   • Es war einmal...
   • Der Sturm
   • Armer Hund mit Hund
   • Sonne, Mond und Sterne
   • Das Ei
   • Die Firma
   • Vom Herbst
   • Häppi Christmäs
   • Südsee
   • Sein oder nicht sein
   • Der blaue König
   • Funkkontakt (which was a excellent way to end 2003 series)
5. The production company, Papa Löwe Filmproduktion GmbH had many animations created like: Antje, The Tigerduck Gang (although the animation looks a little cheap), their move: The Trip To Panama and Emil Grünbär and his gang (Sadly, this show is seen to be in a lost media and nowhere to be found), unfortunately, it was defunct in 2017.
6. The music , which is composed by Annette Focks is really charming to hear.
7. The backgrounds are complete good.
8. Some of the scene are pretty funny.
9. The Polish dub is really great.
10. The English dub is good, unfortunately, it appears to be the lost media since it only has 1 episode, Liebe ist..., and the rest of the episodes are lost, the same goes with the Finnish dub, which was tolerable.

Schlechte Eigenschaften (Bad Qualities)

1. There are some plenty of bad/average episodes like:
   • Revolution (the first bad episode)
   • Didi Neumann
   • Unter Verdacht
   • Auf Schatzsuche
2. The animation can be sometimes stiffy.
3. There are a little bit of animation errors.
4. There are some unlikable characters.
   • In Der Storm (while good), Pauli, Piller and Alfred are considered to be Gary Stu, since they ruined the house with water and destroying the creative indoor waterpark at their house.
5. The German dub of the 2003 series is not uploaded on YouTube nor any video streaming service.
