Pat No Pay is a SpongeBob SquarePants episode from season 5. In this episode, Patrick must work at the Krusty Krab because he can't pay for his food.

Plot

When Patrick eats tons of Krabby Patties without paying, Mr. Krabs makes him pay with hard labor.

Bad Qualities That Are Patrick Paying the Price

  1. This episode is a Mr. Krabs torture episode.
  2. Patrick is unlikable for trying to get away with eating Krabby Patties for free.
  3. For all of the times that Mr. Krabs has been a complete jerk previously, he has done nothing wrong to be treated like this, all he wants is to be paid for is the food Patrick ate, meaning he is getting tortured for absolutely nothing.
  4. Patrick fails to accomplish every single task Mr. Krabs assigns him.
    • He eats all the hand soap instead of mopping the bathroom floor.
    • Instead of putting ice in a barrel, he smashes the freezer, much to Mr. Krabs' dismay.
    • Finally, Mr. Krabs instructs Patrick to put the garbage in the garbage disposal, while Spongebob is instructed to put money away and brings it to the same room, causing Patrick to put the money bag into the garbage disposal, destroying the Krusty Krab.
      • Speaking of which, why did SpongeBob put the money bag next to the trash?
  5. Horrible ending: The Krusty Krab gets destroyed, as well as Mr. Krabs' bag of money, while Patrick blandly asks, "Can I eat now?"
  6. The Krabby Patty withdrawal takes on for a while, and it also implies that Krabby Patties is made out of drugs and people are addicted to it.
  7. Patrick does not face any consequences for not paying Mr. Krabs and for destroying the Krusty Krab, thug making him a karma houdini.

Good Qualities

  1. From a certain perspective, Mr. Krabs getting tortured would be karma for all of his evil deeds.
  2. Mr. Krabs threatening to ban Patrick from Krabby Patties and making him work at the Krusty Krab is justifiable since Patrick doesn't have any money to pay for the Patties.
  3. The intro to this episode is excellent.
  4. Funny moments such as Krabs yelling "NON PAYING CUSTOMER!!", Patrick smashing the freezer, and SpongeBob referencing the episode's runtime as Patrick starves.

Reception

Mr. Enter ranks this episode number 10 on his ¨Top 10 Worst Patrick's a Prick Episodes¨, due to Mr. Krabs trying to be helpful, but getting the Krusty Krab destroyed.

Trivia

  • Krabby Patty Withdrawal is what causes the townspeople to riot in Bikini Bottom.
