"Patching Things Up" (French:Rebouche trou) is the fifth episode from season 4 of Zig & Sharko.
Plot
After Marina causes a giant hole to appear in the beach, she and Sharko uses different methods to patch the hole up but Zig and Bernie keep getting in the way.
Why It Cannot Patch Things Up
- While the premise of the episode is rather decent, it is ruined by a very mean-spirited nature and thus making it one of the most mean-spirited episode of the whole show.
- It is a huge torture episode for Sharko and Marina, and to a lesser extend, Zig, although Zig only suffered in the end of it.
- The beginning doesn't even make any sense because how can Marina make a huge hole with her feet, even for Zig & Sharko standards, this doesn't make any sense.
- Plot hole: How did Sharko and Marina get back on the island? This is never explained.
- The villagers are extremely unlikable in this episode and doesn't serve anything other than be mean to both Sharko and Marina, which mean that they are at their absolute worst and also they could have helped them or at least feel remorse that they both try their best to cover it.
- Oddly enough, in the end of the episode, despite still having the hole, they are happy but only because they distribute ice cream, and while it is better than when they were saying boo to Sharko and Marina, it still feels weird and having a big hole like that is very dangerous, the fact that they forgot it is a mystery.
- Sharko is quite mean to Zig, although he's still likable.
- The gag where the villagers say boo to Sharko and Marina get old very quickly, especially when you know that it isn't even funny and instead make you hate them compared to the other episodes where they are likable.
- One of the moment involve Sharko doing a disturbing face in the almost end of the episode when he get crushed, though it isn't the worst that we seen from this show disturbing moments.
- Semi-bad ending: While the villagers stopped being mean to both Sharko and Marina for the hole, both Zig and Bernie suffer in a freezed place where they had to do ice creams, even though they done nothing wrong for suffering that (even if Zig did try to eat Marina but still...).
Redeeming Qualities
- At least Zig's plan is very funny, and is decent for season 4 standards, although it doesn't compare to his season 2 plans that were more creative.
- Semi-good ending: At least the villagers stopped being mean to Sharko and Marina and were happy to get ice creams.
- Sharko, Marina, Zig and Bernie are likable.
