"Perfect Pizza" is the tenth episode in the first season of The Garfield Show.

Plot

Jon and Garfield discover that Mama Meanie's Pizza Palace has stolen Vito's customers by tricking them into getting their unsatisfactory machine-made pizzas (with coupons and competitions). When they try to help Vito by delivering a pizza of his to Eddie Gourmand, Mama Meanie and his assistant chase after them with their truck.

Why It Rocks

  1. Although their pizza is rotten & inedible, the way Mama Meany makes the pizza in his palace sounds very impressive on paper.
  2. Garfield, Jon and Vito are still tolerable characters, with the first two not showing their flanderization & Vito for not giving up on trying to win back his crowd from Mama Meany's Pizza Palace.
  3. Garfield's and Jon's reasons for not liking Mama Meany's pizza, along with Eddie Gourmand's, are very understandable and justified, due to it tasting like cardboard and being very hard.
  4. The montage of Garfield and Jon delivering Vito's pizza to Eddie Gourmand whilst getting chased by Mama Meany is top-notch and entertaining to watch, and Garfield throwing Mama Meany's pizzas on his windshield and stopping his van are very clever due to the pizzas being hard.
  5. Good Ending: Although Eddie Gourmand calls Vito's pizza the worst, it turns out he was eating Mama Meany's pizza, and so tastes Vito's pizza and as always gives it a great review to the point of even saying which is the best/worst on television - making Vito very happy.

Bad Qualities

  1. Garfield pushing Jon on the floor at the start just to get some pizza was a bit mean-spirited.
  2. Mama Meany wasn't too likable for not caring about the bad reviews he gets about his pizzas being horrible and for trying to stop Garfield and Jon from delivering Vito's pizza to Eddie Gourmand.
    • As mentioned above, his pizzas are very hard and taste very horrible. Worst of all, he's not ashamed of it whatsoever, openly admitting it.

Reception

It holds a rating of 7/10 on IMDB.
