Pico's School is a point and click game created by Tom Fulp in 1999. Made in Flash, it was also the first game to feature Pico, who has since become one of Newgrounds mascots. It was inspired by school shootings such as Columbine.

Why It Rocks

1. The most impressive part about this game is how it was made in Flash 3, which is an engine that was mostly used for animation and had no code and script variables whatsoever. The fact this was made in 1999 makes it even better.
2. Decent graphics for the time.
3. The game is extremely entertaining.
4. Pico is a pretty likable character for the most part, since his goal is to fight Cassandra and his goons which is understandable considering that they killed Pico's class.
5. The boss battles are extremely fast paced and challenging, and they are actually pretty fun.
6. The game spawned a day known as Pico Day, a day where people on Newgrounds make tributes to Pico. Pico also became the mascot of Newgrounds.
7. The music is awesome, with the highlight being "Godlike (Doglike Mix)" by KMFDM and "Re-Ignition" by Bad Brains.
   • The remastered OST by ThatJohnnyGuy is also awesome, despite "Talkin' Smack" sounding like the latter.
8. There are several Easter eggs to find.

Bad Qualities

1. The game requires you to click a lot, which can hurt your fingers. The fan made remake fixes this problem in a way.
2. You only get one health item in the game, making it extremely difficult.
3. The game is way too short.
4. The first boss fight in the original 1999 version is very hard on modern systems due to his attacks being too fast. Luckily, the 2000, 2006, and 2016 versions fix that.

Trivia

• This game marks the first appearance of the character Pico, which would later go on to become the mascot of Newgrounds.
• A sequel to this game was planned but was later cancelled as TomFulp had no time to do one.
