Pitch Meetings is a comedy web-series created by Ryan George for Screen Rant before receiving its own YouTube channel in 2022.

The series follows a Writer and a Producer in different time periods who pitch popular movies to each other, while unintentionally revealing their bad qualities as well.

Why It's Tight!

  1. The idea of satirizing how movies were thought up is a creative and hilarious concept and it's executed very well here.
  2. The Screenwriter Guy and Producer Guy are fun and eccentric characters with a lot of personality and quirks that make them memorable.
  3. The comedy is very creative and funny, often through exaggerations and puns that keep them creative and enjoyable.
  4. Ryan George does a fantastic job portraying both Screenwriter Guy and Producer Guy. The show also introduces plenty of guest actors such as Matthew Patrick and Simu Liu, usually portraying variations of the Screenwriter Guy and Producer Guy, who do pretty good jobs.
  5. The show does a good job pointing out faults in a movie or show while still treating it with respect.
  6. The show has multiple memorable catchphrases, such as "Super Easy, barely an inconvenience" when a problem is solved quickly or "(X) is Tight" when something cool or unexpected happens in a film.
  7. The show creatively satirizes big name companies and traditions through inventive humor.
  8. The editing has a charm to it and manages to be simple while still providing a decent enough atmosphere.
  9. An impressive amount of research is done for the films and shows featured, topped off by an article shown at the end of each episode.

The Only Bad Quality

  1. The images used for the episode thumbnails is kinda uncomfortable, as it's a character from the film having enlarged eyeballs.

Reception

The show has received praise from all over the internet. The show has been praised for it's acting and creative humor and has received parodies, merchandise, and memes that have made the show one of the most popular review shows on the internet. The show currently has a 9.3/10 on IMDb.

Trivia

  • The show is based on a joke made by John Mulaney referencing how weird Back To The Future is when you think about it.
