A Chronicle of pure epic-ness and awesome.

Pokémon: The Arceus Chronicles is special mini-movie in the Pokémon Anime series and is based off of the Nintendo Switch Game Pokémon Legends Arceus. It set during Pokémon Ultimate Journeys: The Series, taking place between the third and fourth episodes of that season.

Plot

A visit to the Sinnoh region turns into a high-stakes adventure when Ash, Pikachu, and friends join forces with powerful Pokémon to confront a looming threat! When Ash, Goh, and Dawn receive a mysterious message from the Mythical Pokémon Arceus, they meet up with Brock and head to Mount Coronet to investigate. There, they find a rampaging Heatran and the commanders of Team Galactic, who are determined to find their missing leader by opening a gate between dimensions. With a trio of Legendary Pokémon and Sinnoh Champion Cynthia on their side, our heroes have lots of help, but they'll need all they can get to save Sinnoh from being destroyed!

Why This Special Is A Chronicles Of Awesomeness

  1. The idea of making a Pokémon Anime episode based off of a new and original Pokémon game is a new yet excellent addition to the series, seeing as Pokémon Legends Arceus came out a week after the film's releases in Japan, it makes it a fun introduction to the game.
  2. The scene in which Saturn and his Pokémon battles Heatran and success in capturing it is quite jaw-dropping and impressive, seeing as most of the times the ones who captures Legendary Pokémon are the main heroes.
  3. There are lots of references and callbacks to Pokémon Legends Arceus, from Ash, Goh, Dawn and even Cynthia wearing the Hisui outfits, to the three main starters (Cyndaquil, Oshawott and Rowlet), Arcus making an appearance and its ending sequence.
  4. Ash, Goh, Dawn, Brock and Cynthia, And Their Pokemon Are Still Likable Characters and Team Galactic are Still Good Villains.
  5. Excellent Voice Acting.
  6. Great since of humor, such as the scene in which Saturn sarcastically looks at Mars while saying "You and your big mouth." after the later expose their plan to bring back Cyrus, with Mars looks back going "Hm!", and Brock fluting with Cynthia near the end of the special.
  7. In addition to Dawn and Cynthia making a return (both whom appeared in Pokémon Master Journeys: The Series previously), Brock makes a return, and in addition to that, Team Galactic makes a re-appearance.
  8. Team Galactic's plan to bring back Cyrus by using Heatran's Magma Storm to power up Arceus' Flame Plate to open up a portal is an incredible cleaver, well though-out and interesting plan, this also hints how much Team Galactic respects Cyrus.
  9. TONES of call backs to Pokémon Diamond & Pearl: The Series, such as Brock making a return, and even the flashback segments.
  10. Much like We Bare Bears The Movie, the action scenes are incredible fast pace, frantic and super fun to watch, some of which will make some views shed some tears.
  11. It introduces a brand new form of Heartran, which has not been seen since this special.
  12. Lots of epic moments that adds to the intensity to its battles.
  13. While having a great since of humor, Pokémon: The Arceus Chronicles also has a fair share of dark moments that are really intense, but however, UNLIKE Pokémon: The Mastermind of Mirage Pokémon in which that Specie goes overboard with its tone to the point it makes it something not out of Pokémon, this specie does not go that rout with its dark tone.
  14. Great Ending: Arceus closes the portal, Team Galactic gets arrested and Ash and his friends look into the Horizon as the final scene is a sequence from Pokémon Legends Arceus.

The Only Bad Quality

  1. Unfortunately, despite its hype, Cyrus does not make a re-appearance outside of his cameo in the flashbacks.

Trivia
