Power Rangers Megaforce is a side-scrolling video game for the Nintendo 3DS . It was released on November 30, 2013 and officially released cards can be utilized within the game.

Why It's Not Morphin Time

  1. For starters, the season this game was based off was rather terrible, so you know you aren't off to a good start.
  2. Extremely muddy graphics for a 3DS game. Keep in mind, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers on SNES came out back in 1994, and it looks way better.
    1. Mighty Morphin Power Rangers was released on the Gameboy in 1994, and that game was way better than this one, both in gameplay and visually.
  3. Each Ranger pretty much plays the same.
  4. The voices are very annoying and will never shut up. They often pop up just to bother you, and give out very useless information,
    • Some lines are rather pointless, like one line that Troy (the Red Ranger) says is "I can hear birds". What does that even mean? Of course you can hear birds because you're outside and birds are part of nature, duh!
    • Some lines are inaccurate and can confuse the player, such as one Ranger telling you to use a card to break open a door, so you do but it doesn't open because the Ranger is actually talking about a door later in the level.
  5. Very repetitive gameplay. All you do is mash buttons to defeat enemies and move right, then beat up some more enemies and occasionally smash objects or jump.
  6. Stiff controls.
  7. You can select which Ranger you want to play as, but it's pointless as the game sometimes forces you to play as a certain Ranger during a level, and you can't change back.
  8. Just like the show, the story is rather terrible.
  9. Bad level design.
  10. The game gets boring really fast.
  11. The game is just a reskin of Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger - Game De Gaburincho. Heck, you can still hear the Kyoryuger soundtrack in parts of the game.

Mega Qualities

  1. The game comes with an exclusive trading card as a nice little collectible.
  2. Even though the voice acting can be annoying, Johnny Yong Bosch does a good job as Troy, as he actually was Adam, the black Mighty Morphin Power Ranger.
  3. The sequel, Power Rangers Super Megaforce, was a huge improvement, as each Ranger plays differently, has more replay value, has a huge selection of characters and improves the combat.
  4. Stays faithful to the source material.
  5. Younger kids and Power Rangers fans may enjoy it.
  6. There is a mode where you can use the 3DS camera to turn yourself into a Power Ranger, which is admittedly pretty awesome, and young kids and Power Rangers fans will get a kick out of it.
  7. The game is at least playable.
  8. It certainly isn't the worst Power Rangers game of all time, hell it certainly isn't the worst 3DS game of all time (especially when terrible Eshop-only games such as Escape From Forest, My Little Baby 3D, Crazy Hunter, Soccer Shootout and Games for Toddlers exist)

Reception

The game was given extremely negative reviews. PBG placed the game at number 1 on his top 10 worst 3DS games list.
