Pro Racer (known as Racing in North America and Simple 1500 Series Vol. 13: The Race in Japan) is a 1999 racing video game developed by Tamsoft and published by Culture Publishers in Japan, A1 Games in North America, and Midas Interactive Entertainment in Europe.
Why We Won't Racing
- The title in the North American version is pretty generic and uncreative. It's just Racing so should call something unique other than a generic name. That's like giving a fighting game with the name of "Fighting".
- There are only three tracks in the game and the last one is just a mirrored version of Long Course.
- Only 12 vehicles, three for each vehicle difficulty and four different types of cars. Also two of type of cars of each difficulty are palette swaps of existing cars.
- The gameplay is just a reskin of PS1 Choro Q games.
- The handling is terrible and clunky especially in Extreme difficulty car which makes winning a race difficult especially in Long Course and it's mirrored counterpart.
- You can unlock everything in one hour so there's little to no replay value.
- Even you win every race in both Normal and Rally modes, the credits won't roll and also it's not possible to see the credits of the game.
Redeeming Qualities
- The graphics are decent.
- Decent soundtrack.
