Radical BLM activists harass Animal Crossing player over hairstyle
On November 20, 2020, following the release of the Winter Update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons with the addition of returning events and new hairstyle options, a user on Twitter named Fifi/@stardewleaf, who is a fan of both Stardew Valley and Animal Crossing, made an adorable post showing her character wearing one of the new hairstyles that were added in the latest update. Many political activists, including people with "#BLM" in their username, became offended by it and began lashing out at her, accusing her of being racist and for appropriating black culture. Some political activists wanted Fifi to be doxxed and wanted her dog dead. Fortunately, the majority of the users who saw the post showed their support for Fifi by saying that they like the haircut as well as drawing fanart for her. Anyone who supported Fifi was labeled as "racist" by Fifi's detractors.
Around the end of November, the situation was starting to get worse. Anyone that had "Sunflora" as their island name (Which is the name of Fifi's island) were harassed and had their islands mass reported via Dream Addresses, and Fifi's detractors began to believe that she and a user who said racist things are both the same person.
As a result of the backlash, Fifi closed her Twitter account in early December but later was reactivated a few days later. It was so bad to the point that Nintendo had to respond to the incident. Fifi's account as of June 13th, 2022, is still deactivated.

The person who made this comment ended up deleting this post and changed their username to avoid receiving criticism. Guess getting ratioed on Twitter isn't enough to make them realize how stupid they are
