Scrapper Cleans Up is the 17th episode of Season 5 (or 3 on YouTube) as well as the 121st episode overall of Mr. Bean

Plot

Mr. Bean enters a cat contest using Mrs. Wicket's Scrapper because Irma wants him to go to Paris for a holiday.

Why It Doesn't Clean Scrapper Up

  1. In the opening scene, Mr. Bean is seen playing with his Teddy while watching racing, but Irma interrupts Mr. Bean's actions by going to the travel agency just to go on a holiday with her, which he refuses, to talk about mean-spirited.
  2. Irma says to Mr. Bean that if he plays with Teddy she confiscates it unless she goes to Paris with him.
  3. Two times he steals Scrapper, Mrs. Wicket's cat, which is illegal:
    • One, he uses a butterfly net to catch Scrapper, while he is eating cat food, but the latter scratches the net instead.
    • Two, he uses a cage and a rope to lock him up while he is eating, which is successful.
  4. Mr. Bean fails to groom Scrapper properly since he does not like to groom at all.
    • He uses a bubble bath to clean his fur, but Scrapper runs away and messes water all over the floor.
    • After he uses a hair dryer, the latter dislikes it, causing him to look tired.
    • He uses a brush to scrub the cat's back, but his fur is hard to brush, causing it to have marks.
    • He uses a toothbrush to brush the cat's teeth, but he eats its head instead.
    • He makes a bot tie using his necktie and puts glue on it so that he can attach it to Scrapper's neck, but the latter removes it.
  5. During the Pageant scene, he let one of the cats (Tibbles) in the 6th stage run away by opening its cage, which is illegal and he would get disqualified for doing that.
  6. Scrapper becomes unlikable when the judge wants to observe his appearance, this leads to other cars trashing the interior of the tent and scaring other people away.
  7. Bad Ending: Even though Mr. Bean wins the pageant, Mrs. Wicket snatches the tickets and his luggage while he attempts to go to Paris with Irma, causing him to take care of Scrapper and Mrs. Wicket states that Scrapper is her cat, so it is her holiday. Which makes Irma worry about Mr. Bean not going to Paris and staying home with Scrapper.

The Only Redeeming Quality

  1. Mr. Bean is likable in this episode, despite the trouble he caused.
  2. Bean having his tickets snatched from Mrs. Wicket can be considered as karma for entering Scrapper into the competition without Mrs. Wicket's consent.
