"Searching for Service with a Smile!" is the sixty-first episode of Pokémon Journeys, the thirteenth overall episode of Pokémon Master Journeys, and the 1,146th episode of the anime. The episode first aired in Japan on April 9, 2021, in the United States on January 21, 2022 and in Canada on September 4, 2021.
Summary
When a leaky pipe at Cerise Laboratory forces Devi and Multa, a pair of handymen to come repair it, Devi gets injured in the process. Ash and Goh offer to help Multa by filling in for the injured Devi.
Why It Rocks
- First and foremost, the episode introduces ourselves to Multa and Devi. Not only they are cute characters in general, but their organization (Which is known as the Plusle Minun Handymen) is absolutely a decent concept for a Pokémon episode.
- Their designs are also decent to look at.
- It's also a done-better version of Buddy Thunderstruck's awful Get the Hock Out episode.
- Ash and Goh are still likable as always as they manage to help Multa with her handymen job by doing the following actions (Even Multa) such as:
- Letting Multa fix the water fountain right after Jessie breaks the fountain.
- Letting James lower the winch with Multa in it and placing harnesses around several Tauros.
- Using Pikachu's Thunderbolt to recharge the winch's battery to pull Meowth, the last Tauros and Multa up to safety.
- Every Plusle and Minun scene can be either heartwarming, adorable, tense, and exciting to watch, and proves that these scenes show how cute and cheerful Plusle and Minun are.
- One notable example is when after they recharge the winch's battery, but when the power is not enough, so Ash uses Pikachu's Thunderbolt move to recharge the battery to save Multa's life.
- Hilarious scenes such as Jessie breaking the water fountain while the water splashes all over her and Divi tripping on the stairs near Cerise Laboratory's entrance.
- The animation and voice acting are still fantastic as always.
- The ending scene is very touching and good, as Ash, Goh and Multa meet the injured Devi (after he tripped on the stairs), and they tell him how well the day went. Afterwards, he is happy to hear of Multa's leadership skills and is looking forward to work with Multa again.
Bad Qualities
- Though hilarious, the scene where Devi trips on the stairs near Cerise Laboratory's entrance and getting injured in the process can be depressing to some viewers.
- Ash and Goh are unlikable in some scenes.
