"Smoogle Sings The Blues" is a Season 8 episode from the 1980s Smurfs cartoon show.

Synopsis

Smoogle must sing the happiness song to make everyone who heard Chlorhydris' raven of unhappiness happy again.

Why it's Blue (in a bad away)

  1. Like "A Hug for Grouchy", this episode is nothing but a torture episode for Grouchy
  2. The Smurfs are very unlikable due to them chasing Grouchy for no reason.
  3. Like in "Crying Smurfs", Brainy Smurf is absent for the entire episode, which feels off, especially since he's one of the important characters. Also, Grandpa, Baby, Wild, Chitter, Nanny Puppy and The Smurflings don't appear anywhere in the episode either.
  4. Chlorhydris, again is in her absolute worse since she want to ruin the smurfs life by making them miserable, which was the reason why they are unlikable in this episode.
  5. The Raven's cawing is very annoying.

Redeeming Qualities

  1. Good animation and voice acting as usual.
  2. Smoogle, Grouchy and The Bluebird of Happiness are the only likable characters.
  3. Heartwarming Ending: Grouchy happily pats Smoogle's head.
