Super Meat Boy is a 2010 platform game developed and published by Team Meat initially for the Xbox 360 via Xbox Live Arcade service. It is the successor to the 2008 Flash game Meat Boy.

Why It Rocks

  1. Absolutely impressive and great graphics and art-style, even for 2010 standards, and they also aged very well, and due to its graphics and art-style, it makes it incredibly pleasing on the eyes and it feels like you're playing a flash game and it feels like you are playing like an animated film or animated series.
  2. Incredibly fun, addictive gameplay.
  3. Unbelievably difficult, which is the main appeal. The difficulty rides the perfect line between driving you utterly bonkers when you fail and making you feel like a platform pro when you succeed.
  4. The level design is really creative and interesting.
  5. Excellent soundtrack, each console version has its own soundtrack.
  6. Over 200 levels to complete.
  7. Tons of humorous moments in the game, both in story and gameplay.
  8. Story mode is about 18 hours, but if you're aiming for a 100%, you'll need to beat all worlds, collect all bandages and earn all achievement/trophies (which also makes the game more challenging), you're looking at 100 hours of gameplay.
  9. Many characters to unlock, most of which are based on many indie games.
  10. Really awesome animation.
  11. Exceptionally smooth and fluid controls.
  12. An epic "Take That!" against the terrible animal activist group known as PETA in the form of Tofu Boy, who is an almost completely useless character unless if you are looking for an extra hard mode.

Bad Qualities

  1. Lackluster boss battles.
  2. Although smooth and fluid, the controls are very slippery and a bit difficult to use, especially on the PC and Nintendo Switch versions.
    • The jumping motion of the original is really slippery and when you're running, which can result in a cheap death and can lead to rage.
