Plot

The hero's beloved is kidnapped by a villain and turned into a frog, and in despair he finally decides to settle the bill thanks to a certain spell.

Gameplay

The gameplay is quite simple, the player's goal is to collect a certain amount of coins from the level and then reach the door under the tree without dying because of enemies or obstacles. The player can jump on enemies or shoot peas at them when he collects a specific item.

Why It Rocks

  1. The graphics for the 1993 Amiga and MS-DOS are absolutely great especially the sprites and backrgound are well projected and polished, they're also very good quality.
  2. Interesting plot: The hero's beloved is kidnapped by a villain and turned into a frog, and in despair he finally decides to settle the bill thanks to a certain spell.
  3. The soundtrack is amazing and fits very well to the game's atmosphere. You'll hear a frog coraking and of course pre-school music considering this game was made for kids.
  4. The controls are really good and responsive but not only that, they're also very easy to learn them.
  5. The game is really long for a platform game from the early 90's because it takes 3 hours.
  6. The design of the worlds are absolutely amazing, and also the levels they have with not little count of them for the early 90's standards.
  7. The design of the characters are also good and likable, especially the protagonist's design that looks great.
  8. It has also options which is a nice suprise for the 1993 especially the options were rarily in games back then.

Bad Qualities

  1. There's no cutscene in the DOS version, only the Amiga version has.
  2. It's remake, Superfrog HD, is pretty bad.

Reception

The game has got very positive reviews at the release and is considerect to be one of the best games on the Amiga and also one of the best platformers for the PC in the DOS era.
